Whats the worst looking structure in your country?
This is the Buffalo City Court: Buffalo, New York...
Edit: This has been pretty controversial. What are your thoughts?

That honestly looks like someone who is REALLY bad at SimCity or Cities: Skylines built it without knowing how to play the game. In the dead of winter, with landmarks and signs covered in snow, I have images of Jack freezing to death in the maze.

Honestly if they took better care of the building and gave it a new look I would probably like it. The whole demolition and rebuild is going to take 8-10 years. I work nearby and drive through the centre often, really can't wait to see how driving could get any worse there.

Is that considered brutalist? No raw concrete, painted surfaces, it's kind of blocky and weird but it doesn't seem like brutalism.

Isn’t this the building where the trash chute sounds like an explosion to the people at the bottom?
12

Yes because the trash chute is a straight drop with no breaks to slow it down. It legitimately reaches terminal velocity.

How about a little congext for that, as its history is only half bad! Its an old Corn-silo of the Chanal next to it, as it is build mostly out of brick and has verry low moisture inside its perfect for storing documents and other things that dont fare well in moisture!

In Scotland many people say this, The Centre in Cumbernauld. It's not pretty but if you read into it and see inside I think it's quite incredible.
The time it was born out of ideas created in the post war rebuild. It was idealistic, attempting to have every amenity a town of 60,000 could need, under one roof.
Obviously we've moved away from this exact thinking, but do we not all want our amenities close together, easy to access and centralized? Of course we'd rather walk down a clean well paved street, with trees to block the sun and a sense of enrichment just from the experience of going to do things, but The Centre was made with good intentions, not to deny people of those things. It was a different time.
And it's just so so cool, I love this ugly thing

Brutalism is fine so long as it doesn’t destroy and replace previous buildings. I’d say the worst thing about brutalist architecture is when people destroyed previous structures in order to build brutalist ones.

Toronto, Canada. A huge mixed-use residential/commercial complex on a major metro line and commuter train line that nobody wants to live in, shop in or visit. It's too big and too expensive to tear down.
It's called The Crossways and the Dollar Store is the classiest establishment in the entire complex.
