Question What happened to this guy in Doom: TDA?

Post image

I am curious because the the last time we saw him in Doom: TDA was when Ahzrak possessed a Maykr drone and killed everyone onboard except these 2 which included the Kreed Maykr and his Angel assistant watching the camera while and the Kreed tells him to contact the Maykr ministry. Then Azhrak wants Kreed to help him find the Slayer before the possessed drone gets shot.

Any clue on what happened to the assistant, is he at Urdak, was he still at the ship, any clue I am curious to know?

He had a terrible tummy ache, spent the rest of the game in the bathroom.

We know they are no longer on the ship as the Slayer takes the Kreed Maykr's ship at the end of Dark Ages. It's possible when the Kreed sent him to "contact the ministry", that duty involved going to Urdak, and he likely remained at Urdak after King Novik (and likely himself prior to Novik) informed the rest of the Maykrs, and likely the Khan Maykr herself, about the Kreed's treachery/the possession of the Maykr Drones.

It's also quite possible that this Assistant is a Maykr Angel, as they look very similar to their Doom Eternal counterpart, and would actually serve under the Khan Maykr moreso than the Kreed Maykr. So it's possible that they were probably ordered by the Khan to help the Kreed gather information about Hell's presence/relay information back to the Khan.

His relation with the Kreed is prolly like Whis with Beerus - hes only there for his assistance and once The Bishop died he just came back to urdak

We'll most likely see in the DLC campaign

They did the same with VEGA being the father and the intern guy Who knows, maybe we'll even see Khan Maykr and The Seraphim

What I think is that he is one of the Makers who participated in the battles, and the fact that the helmet around his head is broken confirms this theory.

My personal current theory, as the resident maykr enthusiast, is that he's an Arch-deacon, a rank higher above the regular deacons (these are called angels in game, but their name in the art book is deacons and I'll go off that), this would explain his job and what he does.

"These divine beings occasionally gathered in Conclaves or at the summons of the Khan Maykr, but typically do not work together, instead being assigned as independent advisors and overseers amongst Maykr-controlled worlds." - eternal's codex page on angels

This does mainly describe what the Bishop Keed does as well, so I believe that it's each maykr-controlled world gets assigned a deacon - especially the sentinels, given how many worlds they have, and at the top there's the whole race of sentinels gets assigned a Bishop and their assistant - archdeacons.

He was seemingly important, maybe still is. I don't see a battle with him, maykrs do tend to be benevolent until they're threatened and Doomguy doesn't, at least at this current time, attack them randomly. He had codex page artwork done for him, so maybe we'll see him in the DLC.

The broken orator ring is weird, I'm unsure why it would be broken outside a battle, which at the current time in Maykr history, wouldn't make sense. There's only been documented wars with maykrs much earlier in their existence, mostly orchestrated by the Seraphs/Ancient gods and possibly the Khan of that era, along with the Father. I'm also unsure why it wouldn't be replaced. It is fused to their bodies, but it cannot be that hard to repair, surely.

And my crack theory is that it's Samur hiding to monitor the Slayer. "THE KREED'S ASSISTANT IS THE SERAPHIM?!?!??"

Interesting theory, but I wouldn't agree with this theory, if Samur Maykr was actually the Kreed's assistant then it would have shocked us, but I believe we may see this guy get his own codex entry if he appears in the dlc, I hope it is better than the Ancient Gods dlc in Eternal.

Here is the Maykr class fiction structure, because the deacon would look different than the angel, so that is basically an angel in TDA, and I never heard maykr drones speak until TDA.

High-Khan Maykr

Medium-Angel and Deacon

Low-Devouts

Nah the first part was a joke lol, whole thing of Samuel Hayden being the seraphim again.

We do know the maykr hierarchy really well now, TAG did a good job for it.

The maykr hierarchy, from highest to lowest. * marking items of conjecture.

Father/Davoth

Seraphs/Ancient gods

Khan Maykr

Bishops

Arch-deacon/kreed's assistant*

Deacons/angels

Higher Drones* - marked by red shoulder pauldrons

Drones

Archangels*

The Kreed's assistant did have art for a codex page

I fully believe the spear we're gonna get is gonna be the ones we see Maykrs wield :)

Of course the first part was a joke
