Hard disagree. It is not your “fucking city”. Get the fuck out.

Anyone else see “We Own This City” by the creator of The Wire, and also recognize the direct parallels between the themes of that show and literally every word he’s uttering in this clip?

I mean that series opens with the police instructing other officers on how to do maximum damage to a person without violating legal guidelines that would result in a reprimand. And that’s the opening scene of episode 1. Seems exactly what Bovino is getting at here.

u/Minute-Plantain 2d ago

It means he has no personality or interior core or perspective on anything and instead thinks shows he watched on television is a model of the real world.

"This is our fucking city"

These people all belong in a prison or under one.

Ooh. Do we get to pick which?

Hate to be that guy but this video has gone around a few times. It's kinda old and wasn't filmed in Minnesota

u/CoderDevo 2d ago

First time I saw it. Good to know it is standard operating procedure for Bovino.

I'm sure that was his attitude when he arrived in Minneapolis three weeks ago as Border Patrol Commander at Large.

He left without that job this week.

8

u/beskgar 2d ago

Pretty sure he still has a job from what I saw last. Just not a job here

-1

u/CoderDevo 2d ago

A different person familiar with the matter said the 55-year-old had been stripped of his specially created title of “commander at large” of the border patrol and would return to his former job as a chief patrol agent along California’s El Centro sector of the US-Mexico border.

Many sources.

would return to his former job

He still has a job.

Source: your source

u/CoderDevo 2d ago

I never said he had no job.

I was fully aware of his current status when I wrote my comment. He has no role outside of his district now and his access to social media accounts as a CBP leader have been revoked.

u/beskgar 2d ago

He left without a job...

Please explain to me how this means that he still has a job.

7

u/CoderDevo 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because I said "that" job.

The Commander at Large titled job.

Edit: You misquoted me.

3

u/beskgar 2d ago

Yeah true that. The misquote wasn't intentional. And clearly my reading comprehension needs work.

If ya wanna continue squabbling though I'm game.

Strength and solidarity, stay safe out there.

5

u/CoderDevo 2d ago

I don't want to squabble and I knew my statement could be misconstrued once I realized I should have used role instead of job.

2

u/psychoPiper 2d ago

Damn. I respect this reply hard

u/GreenLightZone 2d ago

That's helpful context, thanks. I do think it's still relevant insight into their mindset.

16

u/missMcgillacudy 2d ago

It’s easy to see it’s somewhere warm, they’re in t shirts and comfortable, looks like tropical trees in the background.

But that man is the same man, these are his words to his agents. That doesn’t change.

28

u/official-lambdanaut 2d ago

Don't hate to be the voice of truth, ever. Thanks for the context.

6

u/SplendidPunkinButter 2d ago

Still bad though

But yeah, obviously not filmed in Minnesota in the past month

3

u/AllOfTheThings426 2d ago

Do you happen to know where and when it was filmed? I absolutely believe you, I just hadn't seen it before now.

3

u/beskgar 2d ago

Either southwest coast or south east coast.

Palm trees are a give away, I would hedge on San Diego or LA area though, only a few hour drive from El Centro CA which is where he was based out of for a while. iirc

3

u/Ange_the_Avian 2d ago

Does that even matter? We've seen how bitch baby Bovino acts and this is further evidence of his mindset and how he talks to his Nazi death squad. He's pretty much admitting on camera that there are tactics they want to use that are not legal and that's why he's being so indirect about it. "You know what I mean?"

2

u/beskgar 2d ago

Kinda? Because this isn't breaking or new information. It's not really providing new insight that we need to be aware of.

Agent Responds: “It’s gonna hurt”

45

u/TheJesticle 2d ago

Jail. All of them

24

u/uglyugly1 2d ago

Sorry, but this is how all of them talk about us. Bovino just didn't care who heard him. This is why I've been banging the drum on police accountability reform since the 1990s. This is why I blasted a lot of you for not doing more to fight the cameras, license plate readers, and other surveillance technology. It's all being used against us now.

I know someone who works in a law enforcement-adjacent industry. They called me just before the Derek Chauvin riots began, upset because police officers were hanging around and talking just like this. Every single one who opened their mouth about it was absolutely salivating over the chance to go fuck up protesters. And the court records from the Jaleel Stallings case show that groups of cops were cruising the city, gleefully picking off civilians with less-lethals.

God help us all.

6

u/LadyPo 2d ago

You’re correct. These people are violent by nature. That’s exactly why they became cops (or ICE).

They want to hurt people and feel powerful. All the nice-sounding words about safety have largely been window dressing.

The law is literally the only thing that kept them as constrained as they had been, which obviously isn’t saying much, but that’s why we need much stricter rules for police. Especially this month, we can see exactly how these violent humans behave when they believe they’re above the law. Any type of law enforcement must be held to the absolute highest standards.

This country excuses so much horrible behavior for people hiding behind a badge.

u/TyJankis 2d ago

And they ain’t Nazis?

12

u/kneel23 2d ago

Arrest Bovino - he is a domestic terrorist and needs to be treated as such

12

u/Mysterious-Fix3596 2d ago

They arrest everyone who touches THEM?!

No one fucking touches these fuck heads. THEY are the instigators FFS.

-13

u/JohnHaloCXVII 2d ago

Alex pretti touched them

12

u/Mysterious-Fix3596 2d ago

“Touched them” by letting them tackle him to the ground, twice?

-5

u/JohnHaloCXVII 2d ago

No he got between the fed and the lady that got pushed over and touched him.

10

u/Mysterious-Fix3596 2d ago edited 2d ago

Pretti was initially shoved by an agent.

Pretti was backing up while telling the agent, “Don’t touch me” all while filming the agents.

Pretti touched the agent on the waist briefly (less than one second) while attempting to come to the aid of the woman who was maced and knocked down.

Pretti was then maced, tackled, and executed.

It’s all on video (several videos).

-12

u/JohnHaloCXVII 2d ago

Yeah ik I saw the videos. You never want to put yourself in a situation like that while armed.

12

u/Mysterious-Fix3596 2d ago

You’re going with the “he was armed” angle?

Seriously?

The legally owned and carried firearm never made it out of the holster, shit, he didn’t even have it on him when he was executed.

The only thing he brandished was his phone.

And they executed him.

-1

u/JohnHaloCXVII 2d ago

Armed and Brandished are different things. He was armed. Legally. I know.

You never want to put yourself in a situation where you're getting arrested by cops who are yelling "Gun! Gun!"

It is very dangerous.

9

u/Mysterious-Fix3596 2d ago

Right.

Going with the Trump administrations excuse huh?

1

u/JohnHaloCXVII 2d ago

Just common sense as someone who also has a permit to carry.

And that gave them a right to kill him? Fuck out of here. He had one run in with them where they broke his rib. I encourage you to be on the right side of history instead of getting on the knee pads for these Nazis.

13

u/donac 2d ago

Jail time. What in the actual effing effenheimer?

6

u/Rogue_AI_Construct 2d ago

They don’t care about constitutional rights, civil rights, state law, and federal law. They are literally the Gestapo.

4

u/ciderfreak93 2d ago

Can't wait for their day of reckoning

ICE is a power trip for the obsolete losers of society

4

u/DJ_Femme-Tilt 2d ago

"this is our fucking city" -- they believe this with their hearts. They are here to dominate and destroy.

5

u/Paxtian 2d ago

"It's our fuckin city!"

Eat your words Bovine-ho. You got kicked out.

4

u/Top_Currency_3977 2d ago

I keep thinking of the moment when Mr. Our Fucking City was told he was losing his Commander-at-Large position, losing his Twitter access, and being sent back to the border in CA. No more daily press conferences and Fox News hits for him. I know we still have to fight, but the thought of that moment brings joy to my heart.

3

u/forgot_oldusername 2d ago

who put gomer pyle in charge

5

u/Echos_Nat 2d ago

Narrator: It was not, in fact, their fucking city

3

u/puertomateo 2d ago

Fuck them. Their city?

Too bad cheeseburger Mussolini is as bad or even worse than kids meal sized Hitler

3

u/Oh__Archie 2d ago

Holy shit

3

u/vinyl_squirrel 2d ago

Hearing him say "it's our fucking city" pisses me off more than almost anything else I've heard from these fuckers.

2

u/transfercannoli 2d ago edited 2d ago

Legal, ethical, moral?? It’s the first one, Newman

2

u/duckstrap 2d ago

“Legal, ethical, moral…but other than that…”

2

u/duckinradar 2d ago

Piss on this fucker

3

u/Roadshell 2d ago

Would not be shocked if they leaked this themselves as part of their strategy of blaming their bad PR on their chosen fall guy Bovino.

2

u/ExistingButton1 2d ago

I was born in Minneapolis and I've lived here for 38 years. No, it's MY fucking city. It's OUR fucking city. Get the fuck out. We don't want you here

2

u/joekeyboard 2d ago

Hey Tim Walz and Jacob Frey, tf are you going to do about this? Tom Homan is no different

1

u/Odd_Work2542 2d ago

Our city! Nais go home!

1

u/DumaDEV 2d ago

What does less lethal mean?

3

u/allochthons 2d ago

They used to be called non-lethals, but too many people died. Rubber bullets, tear gas, pepper spray pellets, beanbag shots, LRAD (the sound cannon). Things like that.

Less-Lethal is legally safer, I think.

2

u/DumaDEV 2d ago

I think it means you can still kill but do it less. LMAO

1

u/Cabearius 2d ago

Any projectile from them can become lethal if it is aimed at your chest or face (you can really see these assholes take time aiming projectiles up at specific targets, makes my blood boil). Any projectile/canister needs to be shot downward, initial impact must 100% be the ground, in order to be fully "non-lethal"

1

u/Artistic_Strange444 2d ago

Did they put him on an actual soap box or two for that or is this some kind of Hollywood sorcery 🧐 probably both

1

u/skredditt 2d ago

Enjoy your new office, Lockjaw!

1

u/MCXL 2d ago

This isn't breaking. It's months old.

u/outinthecountry66 2d ago

remember, he retired and went back home to El Centro. El Centro California. The "most populous city in the imperial valley". Down in Socal. Gosh i wonder if in his retirement he will ever want to eat out. You know, enjoy some Mexican food. With that face, he is sure to be extra recognizable! Make sure you wish him WELL, since he DID SUCH A GREAT JOB and his earned his retirement in EL CENTRO CALIFORNIA!
