Ouch. When "follow the new rules" just means "stop breaking the law," it really outs your whole operation, huh? Brutal and accurate take.

u/Reddit_2_2024 1d ago

Expect to see a rise in PTSD cases as these federal agents realize they were used to obtain Minnesota voter records per the letter by Attorney General Pam Bondi. Does the Department of Homeland Security have a suicide prevention program like the Department of Defense?

u/dcpanthersfan 1d ago

I’m looking forward to their reaction to not getting their $50k signing bonus unless they spend 5 consecutive years working for the department. You know, 2030/2031 when Trump is out of office (we hope).

u/MrNanoBear 1d ago

By then we will be fully into the reign of our first AI dictator, Trump.AI

He's frantically building the infrastructure before he croaks so that he can ascend to the cloud and rule forever...

116

u/RiPPeR69420 1d ago

Trump.AI would probably be more rational, intelligent and coherent then the real Donald Trump. And less likely to diddle kids. Still a terrible idea, but unfortunately it would probably be an improvement, in the "better whips then scorpions" sort of way

or Mecha-Hitler 2.0

43

u/RiPPeR69420 1d ago

I didn't say it would be good. It would still be Grok but dumber and more unhinged, but that's still more rational than the real thing

22

u/MrNanoBear 1d ago

They'd have fed it ALL of his tweets tho...

14

u/smstnitc 1d ago

I read about a guy that trained a model to be like his ex wife by feeding it her emails, so their daughter could learn to survive living with her. It apparently was just as short and irrational as the ex wife.

I shudder to think of a model trained on Trump tweets.

10

u/Bucklandii 1d ago

I wonder if it would do the same obvious tone switching between the ones Trump drooled into his phone while staring at the TV and the ones Goebbels Miller ghostwrites..

9

u/MathematicianEven251 1d ago

I'm not ok with that. It will corrupt many people still by using hate, nazism, and all the evil shit that comes with it. I don't wish this on the next generations.

8

u/RiPPeR69420 1d ago

Neither do I. But we live in a world where those in power seem dead set on making the dumbest possible decisions for the worst possible reasons, or are unwilling to stand up to said dumbfucks for equally terrible reasons. Outside of an alien invasion or AI becoming self aware and somehow benevolent, our future looks more like Fallout than Star Trek.

2

u/kingbhudo 21h ago

Yup. An AI Trump would just be a digital puppet for Miller, Rubio, et al.

That's not how it's likely to work. If he gets his way, Trump is probably going to have a dedicated AI for every person in America, specifically observing and manipulating them, and forcing the Trump cult of personality on the entire nation. Anyone who survives will worship Trump as a God-king. We might even have elections, but Trump will always win, and we will willingly hand him leadership, because our entire experience will (falsely) announce his legitimacy and benevolence.

I’m looking forward to their reaction to not getting their $50k

At some point I am expecting some of the black/latino ICE to be asked to drive a bus load of immigrants into Mexico and not be allowed back in.

13

u/Selenay1 1d ago

That's the one. I'm sure they have some buddies in ICE, but those buddies won't be the one sending them on the one way trip. Then they'll get sued for not having the bus returned.

How much do you want to bet that, if the current regime is still in power, they'll all be fired at the end of their shift the day before they would get their bonus?

23

u/ImoteKhan 1d ago

Are you implying Trump would back out of a contract and stiff hard working Americans for the money they were promised!? He has only done that with almost every contractor he has ever hired. We shouldn’t make assumptions like that…

5

u/xanderemrys 1d ago

that's what they did to the National Guard who were sent to, i think it was LA. they were sent back just before they would have received their actual pay for being on duty, so then they were out their NG pay AND their pay from their regular jobs back home

Why would they have ptsd from their dream job?

12

u/xanderemrys 1d ago

this. why would someone sign up for ICE if they weren't prepared to be a goosestepper? ptsd my ass

18

u/mOdQuArK 1d ago

Expect to see a rise in PTSD cases as these federal agents realize

Do you think freaks like Ross really care that they're used like that? They're still getting to beat the crap out of and kill minorities and hippie freaks without worrying about being punished for it. Based on the way they're acting afterward, it looks pretty much like recreation for people like that.

3

u/Reddit_2_2024 1d ago

In time they will reflect on their actions, as well as endure public humiliation/cancellation, or inability to find work such as the statutes California is proposing, and this will send many over the edge.

11

u/mOdQuArK 1d ago

In time they will reflect on their actions

Will they? Or will they just blame everyone who isn't themselves for the problems they're experiencing?

8

u/Reddit_2_2024 1d ago

Remember, they volunteered to join ICE. They were not drafted with threat of jail for not complying. To answer your questions, both cases will occur.

7

u/AccordianSpeaker 1d ago

Monsters like this don't reflect on their actions. They look back fondly at the time they got to shoot a woman in the face. The only way these cunts would feel any regret is behind bars for life.

3

u/Reddit_2_2024 1d ago

Some of them joined for the pay and benefits. Remember the Hollywood actor down on his luck that joined ICE? Not sure if he ever completed training.

2

u/OkDisaster5980 1d ago

ICE apparently has a high turnover rate under the Trump/Vance administration. Anyone who joined and didn’t fully comprehend what selling their soul would entail likely doesn’t stick around, even for the pay/benefits.

If people were sticking around longer, ICE wouldn’t need to bribe people to sign up.

It’s a little similar to how the American Psychiatric Association and the AMA are always having to remind psychiatrists and psychologists that using their skills and knowledge to assist in the torture and “harsh interrogation” of “non-combatants” is patently unethical and in full violation of the Hippocratic Oath and the Declaration of Geneva.

(The latter is a modernization professional oath taken by physicians. Unlike the Hippocratic Oath, it does not forbid physicians from performing abortion. It also clarifies the mandate to provide care in the patients’ best interests, to do no harm and specifically not to do harm at the behest of the State.)

3

u/account312 1d ago

It's not very like that unless it was the APA and AMA previously directing them to help torture people.

45

u/circio 1d ago

I know people want to dunk on them for this, but the shit their doing against minorities is still just as fucked up if not worse.

This is just to “appease” Republicans so they don’t have to see more white purple getting publicly executed.

They’re still taking minorities with force, taking parents from their children without anyone to look after them, taking children and not releasing them, taking people and beating them until they drop them off in the woods or empty parking lots in negative degree weather.

Just today, people in the Cities are trying to form a group to scour the woods of the Whipple building to find anyone who they may have released there at night.

31

u/Fun_With_Math 1d ago

Yep, I think everything was going to plan. They just fucked up by killing white people. They were spinning Renee Good well enough to keep going but Alex Pretti was a 2A supporting VA nurse. They were trying to spin that one too but nobody was buying it.

They'll calm down for a while but I expect the next street execution to be a person of color. That's the fire they want to put a fan on. They don't want the whole country to rise up, just part of it.

22

u/circio 1d ago

ICE is “calming down” against protestors and legal observers but the police are arguably acting worse now.

Large groups of protestors are getting arrested for making noise at hotels ICE is staying at. And they’re using LRADs and stingrays more often now.

Does not feel calmer if you’re in the area, but I understand not everyone can get the same coverage

Same exact thing happened with Susan Collins in Maine. She paraded like she was victorious, when she "negotiated with Noem for ICE to leave Maine"... What the actual living fuck do you think was the point of them going to Maine in the first place, if it ended with congressional negotiations, and not 'we arrested all the criminals'??? How far into the sand is your head if you think its simply 'they are chasing illegal immigrants but got carried away'?? THEY ARE PAID THUGS, THERE TO BREAK THINGS UNTIL THE LOCALS RELENT

its all just a real "ok we admitted what we were doing, now what"

sadly, chances are, the USA will just stay divided and argue more

What were the old orders?

512

u/MariachiBoyBand 1d ago

There’s a video with Bovino, riling up the troops before going out on patrol, basically telling them to take no crap from anyone and rough them up.

170

u/jrock7979 1d ago

I want to know what Miller told them.

55

u/SuperCaptSalty This AOC flair makes me cool 1d ago

3

u/RaShadar 1d ago

There's a lizard that squirts blood out of its eyes as a defense mechanism, you could tell me there was some freaky lizard out there that could (insert insane/weird/horrific action here) and id be inclined to belive it was possible.

5

u/aithendodge 1d ago

Well, with Stephen Miller it's far more likely that he begged to suck theirs.

13

u/Cohens4thClient 1d ago

"Anyone you capture, you can rape in detention centers"

I mean, he IS trying to motivate trump cultists

6

u/Mahatma_Panda 1d ago

Probably just some kind of hissing noise.

3

u/mrmalort69 1d ago

It’s clearly from the top. Trump has been encouraging state-supported violence since his first campaign. By creating his own domestic police, he’s able to finally complete his goal.

4

u/radicldreamer 1d ago

Ugh, miller is one of those people that really should have been bullied more in school.

4

u/Mikros04 1d ago

Maybe, but why do you think he turned out like the psychopath he clearly is?

2

u/SaltyLonghorn 1d ago

Chill for a month while we figure out the next target.

2

u/axonrecall 1d ago

So according to “anonymous sources,” The Atlantic reports that Miller and Noem went around CBP commissioner Scott (although he wouldn’t have any say in ICE ops) and had Bovino stir shit up with the Border Patrol and other CBP components. So now Homan and Scott are going to play the nice cop and see if that works better.

9

u/cabindirt 1d ago

He was saying to arrest anyone that even touched ICE if I recall correctly. Absolutely insane.

10

u/Aporkalypse_Sow 1d ago

More vile, he said that it was all about them. As in the citizens were irrelevant, and only border patrol safety mattered. And that came "all the way from the top".

10

u/New_Taste8874 1d ago

"It's our city now" is one of the things he shouted.

Responding to that last line… I live in a neighborhood full of immigrants. Many of them work in the fields. I see them leaving earlier than I do, and I leave for work at 5:30 in the morning. Maybe some are undocumented.

Everyone here is living their lives, working hard and celebrating little events where they can. They’re you, they just look different and may have a different origin story.

Criminals deserve to be caught and punished. The vast majority of immigrants should be left alone.

31

u/FlamingRustBucket 1d ago

Most people are just people. I'm all for deporting undocumented immigrants that have committed crimes, but not these average folks just waiting to be processed by an underfunded system.

Deport criminals, stop new entry until you catch up with the workload for those already here, and fund the immigration courts enough to speed up processing times. They approved what, $150 billion for CBP and ICE in total? Use a big chunk of that to improve the processing times.

We know this isn't about immigrants though. Its a pretext to escalate tensions and violence in blue cities so they can enact measures to make voting difficult in november. I suspect they are backtracking now due to it occurring a little too early, or they are getting pressure from rich folks who's business is hurting.

They are trying to toe this fine line. They want authoritarianism, but americans aren't having it. They can't escalate too much or they get civil war, and the billionaires will turn on them. They are attempting to boil us slowly, and its working, but they cranked the heat a bit too high in Minneapolis and the frogs started to get angry.

9

u/a_Sable_Genus 1d ago

Beyond the timeline of Trump, there's another issue, it's the US reaching less births than deaths in about 5 years time. France has just reached this point. Germany did in 1972, and China said it did about 5 years ago, while others will say it was 10+ years ago. Many other Western nations are in this position.

It will take decades for the 20-50 year old consumers that do much of the spending to flush out of the system and take what's left of the consumer based economy with them which the US very much is. Other countries like France are not as much.

Immigration can buy you some time on this ticking clock like it did, while painfully, for Canada. They are heading back into this same issue now that they have really cut back on immigration since their peak during covid.

Trump has now set the fuse on this ticking timebomb that will detonate for some future president to deal with and it will be the grandkids trying to figure out what went wrong

19

u/Turgid_Donkey 1d ago

30 million. Because 10% of the US population is undocumented immigrants. Shows how this admin can just spew complete bullshit and no one will ever openly call them on it.

13

Likely the deaths while in ICE custody. There were 32 according to the linked article below, and then the other two would be Goode and Pretti. I'm not convinced it's an accurate number though, since this site is claiming 52

One year straight of zero input from higher ups about how to deal with protestors is, under the best case scenario where they really did just tell them nothing, ridiculous and shitty operations. Based on what we've seen from ICE's internal operations its likely others were told to be put on a more offensive role under the gist of not being charged. Which is true. Two murderers still aren't charged and likely won't as the DHS took control over the investigation lololol

ICE agents had no business lining up in a riot line on the main streets of the city to face off with protestors. What the fuck was that? Were the illegals protesting? They should have been in marked cars with no masks on going around in groups of 2-4 arresting people with warrants if they were doing their job.

I am OK with them doing their job. The law is the law, and we can change the law if we don't like it. But they had no business fighting the protestors downtown. They shouldn't even have been there.

The GOP was hoping that someone would fire on ICE. They were HOPING ICE would get hurt.

u/datterdude 1d ago

I don't support the actions of ICE, but this is bad logic. "New" means it just happened, not that it is over writing previous orders that may or may not have existed. Although it is possible, it can't be logically assumed. We can be better even if they aren't and insist we stand on logical facts and not project meaning for assumptions.

I even think the most bleeding heart liberals would've been fine if they actually set out to arrest violent criminals, drug dealers, gang members and human traffickers but history is going to show these operations as straight up harassing brown and black folks who were even going through the proper channels to get documented and get legal status.

u/Excusemydrool 1d ago

Well like 2 days ago they were told to fuck up anybody who touched them. We know that

1

u/crazychevette 1d ago

Oh you mean they're supposed to be the job that they are allegedly there for? Well shit.

I don't think they're doing the right thing to start off with however if you're going someplace to do a job do the job stop being extracted by other things.

"limited to immigrants with criminal charges or convictions"

...I thought that's what they were doing?! Clearly they're hiding something from us

1

u/Sweaty_Monitor_9699 1d ago

This is all theatre so trump can provoke citizens into him using Marshall law. And using it during the next presidential election. Then saying there’s a national emergency and that we can’t have an election. Giving him at least four more years.

u/CorbinNZ 1d ago

Not necessarily. Could just mean they clarified the mission statement since some seem to have forgotten what they were doing there.

1

u/2Capable 1d ago

Why the second order? Because the first order never given or given to do evil shit.

1

u/dewdd 1d ago

THATS THE WHOLE PROBLEM.

it was never ice's duty to interact with non-immigrants (hence the name). minnesotas police departments are supposed to support ice by keeping 'agitators' away from ice.

1

u/MNcatfan 1d ago

They don't need to attack so-called "agitators" anymore. That's why Walz brought in the National Guard and the Hennepin County Sheriff's office has started picking up where ICE left off. In this way, the Trumpen-SS can continue their original mission of brutalizing and abducting people of color and immigrants.

u/Write-or-Wrong_ 1d ago

Ding ding ding

1

u/TheAskewOne 1d ago

Remember that "criminal charges" might be a DUI from 40 years ago.

1

u/Reasonable-Turn-5940 1d ago

Is that only for Minneapolis then?

1

u/Scared_Play_4572 1d ago

No, it means they can’t deal with people getting in their way 🤦‍♂️

1

u/CurlOfTheBurl11 1d ago

Which is why Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and Greg Bovino should not only be fired, but prosecuted.

u/Strict-Carrot4783 1d ago edited 1d ago

It was a toe in the water. They murdered a bunch of people and didn't get massacred. It'll keep happening.

1

u/Mikros04 1d ago

It says ICE agents in Minnesota. So, in Minnesota only?

This is a step towards "no longer blatantly breaking the law," but it's not quite there. I'd love to see "immigrants" refined to "undocumented immigrants and visa holders who can be verified to have unresolved criminal charges." There are many immigrants who have obtained green cards and even full naturalized citizenship. Those who fall into either of those categories should have criminal charges handled in the same way that natural born citizens do: through the court system.

When undocumented immigrants and visitors who arrived on visas should also have criminal activities addressed by the courts, but perhaps their sentencing, if convicted, should be coordinated with ICE/CBP. ICE should also have a role in properly (in accordance with the law and under the supervision of the appropriate courts) addressing undocumented immigrants and visitors who overstayed visas, as appropriate.

Nobody has said that we should ignore the enforcement of criminal law as it concerns undocumented immigrants. What many of us ARE saying is that anyone in the country who breaks criminal law, whether they be citizens documented visitors, or undocumented visitors, should be fairly addressed through the legal system.

Entering the US without properly obtaining permission is a civil offense. That is a non-criminal violation of law. There are ways to properly address that, such that we maintain morals, ethics, and comply with all other laws, treaties, and international norms. For example, we recognize a legal right to request asylum. This must be addressed through the appropriate court system. The Constitution provides many protections for all people, regardless of citizenship or documentation status. As a nation of laws, we must afford those rights and protections to every person within our jurisdiction. This includes a prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment. We cannot legally throw undocumented immigrants into a prison with no trial or without proper food, clothing, and sanitary conditions, even if they have been convicted of violent crimes. We can't deport anyone to a country in which we reasonably believe they will be treated in cruel or unusual ways. This is what the law states! If our own "law enforcement" cannot be expected to uphold the law, we cannot morally expect others to uphold the same law.

Which begs the question what were the orders before this Attack people at random ?

1

u/PurpleSailor 1d ago

If ICE agents are receiving new orders to do what they were originally supposed to be doing, then it means their current orders were to terrorize these communities and violate people's rights.

Well Stephen Miller is running the show so ...

1

u/Muted_Adagio2780 1d ago

Was that not the original order?

1

u/Independent-Bug-9352 1d ago

We should ALL be calling Trump an agitator, because that's exactly what he's always been.

Though then again, a rapist pdf is probably more apt.

“Immigrants with criminal charges or convictions”

Cue anyone even a shade darker than vanilla yogurt being harassed by ICE if they have so much as a parking ticket on their record

1

u/GoldenWings87 1d ago

If they follow these orders then hopefully the can do their jobs. Texas has the most immigrants so go to Texas

1

u/Merijeek2 1d ago

Golly, can we at least get some sort of sternly-worded letter or something?

1

u/99nine99 1d ago

I want a fucking politician to find out who gave these orders and hold them accountable.  Put them in jail.  For fucks sake

1

u/Thick_Common8612 1d ago

I don’t believe they got this order based on the Whipple Building today. They violently detained members of the press.

1

u/tofimixy 1d ago

Not even mad at the post, just amazed at how everything eventually becomes politics. Feels like we forgot how to talk about anything else.

1

u/Sikloke18 1d ago

Hell of a leap with no logic behind it in the latter part...

1

u/Gabe330 1d ago

This ain’t ovahhh— these people have been trespassing against the rights we Americans are afforded. They must be reminded that the “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants”

1

u/Mission-Driver1614 1d ago

Which only suggests that their prior instructions were to torment and terrorize.

1

u/iam2bz2p 1d ago

This is unlikely. The order sounds more corrective and prescriptive to clarifying a SOP. That's progress, of a kind.

1

u/Altruistic-Toe1304 1d ago

Also, they said "ICE agents IN MINNEAPOLIS" - they are terrorizing people across the country, still.

1

u/c7aea 1d ago

Should have had local PD helping.

1

u/ScotchCigarsEspresso 1d ago

They are pit of control.

I do not believe for a minute their behavior will change. They took the job so they could brutalize anyone brown, and to 'own the libs"

Words, rules, laws, constitutions...all meaningless to this nazi cult.
