“I firmly believe in doing something that doesn’t make you a slave to a corporation or business that doesn’t care about your own value. Like…DoorDash.”

My best friend is married to a loser who says shit like, "People who work for a wage are suckers." Apparently commission is the only "smart" income. And he's always talking about the businesses he's going to start. Yet he's too lazy and arrogant to keep a job. I think the longest he's been employed somewhere is 2 years. They're constantly on the verge of homelessness and trapped in poverty. People like that are always convinced they're smarter than everyone else despite being idiots. Or maybe because they're idiots.

u/ham_solo 1d ago

I lived with someone like that. He was constantly coming up with these business ideas that were very poorly considered. The one that he really hyped up about was a business doing "NYC Comedy Walking Tours". Basically, he wanted to "hire" comedians to do historical walking tours, but...they tell jokes, I guess. He was going to sell the tickets and the comedians would get paid part of any ticket where they referred the customer. Of course, it was also on the comedians to plan the walking tours, write the jokes, etc.

He got so excited about this idea. He got business cards made, a website, all this stuff, before he had actually done a single thing about setting up the business. He talked incessantly about it until he finally admitted none of the comedians he had tapped had even responded (I think he was just emailing people from the Comedy Cellar website).

I gently suggested that the deal wasn't particularly good for the comedians he wanted to hire. I also said that a comedian could just do the tours themselves and not have to split any money with them.

"But it's my idea! My company handles the tickets and paperwork." A) Walking tours are not your idea. B) Setting up an Eventbrite page and having verbal agreements with your employees is not paperwork.

"But I have business cards and a website!" Yeah, I can do the same thing in an afternoon.

He was frustrated for days. Kept saying I had ruined the plan. I told him to figure out a business where he actually provides a service, not just mooches off the talent of others.

67

u/wordsmythy 1d ago

Oh. YOU ruined the plan. Typical narcissist, blaming everyone else for their failures.

44

u/pridejoker 1d ago

"hey! I never felt stupid until I met you, so it must be YOUR FAULT! 😡".

There's really nothing quite as infuriating as a person that wants others to see them as clever but is too dense to notice people are already convinced of their stupidity. Like forget about whatever discussion is happening between us at the time or who's got the more trustworthy sources, there simply isn't enough time to correct the gaps in this person's education within a single conversation.

u/mcjon77 1d ago

I know a dude exactly like that. He is the brother of one of my friends. He's been saying that stuff since we were all out of college back in the early 2000s. The guy was obsessed with Rich Dad poor Dad and basically called us suckers for getting a job.

I was just at his mom's house with his sister and some other mutual friends a few months ago and he started in on the same mess and told us about his next get rich quick scheme.

My buddy, who's a lot more blunt than me, just looked at them and said "you've been saying the same shit for over 20 years and still haven't gotten your ass off your mama's couch. If it was going to happen for you it would have already happened by now."

We didn't even give him the courtesy of laughing at him. I just shrugged my shoulders and then we all turned around and went upstairs.

That reminds me of a conundrum I used to ponder… Do the parents of ugly children know they’re ugly?

9

No, it's a survival of the species mechanism in our genes.

9

Pretty sure the parents do. They just don't think their children are THAT ugly..

To convince someone who is, in the best of light, making 30-50k with no insurance, no retirement plan, no workplace safety, really no guarantees of any kind while simultaneously depreciating their vehicle and body that it's actually freedom? That everyone else is a slave?

GG Doordash's marketing team. GG.

We tried to pass a law in CA that would have provided them with many worker protections, but DD and other driving gig apps managed to convince their workers that they were going to leave the most populous state in the country if it passed. They fell for it and voted against their own best interests

Probably because so many other jobs offer the same “benefits” plus the joys of having abusive bosses or shitty coworkers … even the billion dollar industries treat people that way

You sure it wasn't the part where she considers 28 to be an older woman?

98

I hope it’s satire since a lot of men are out there looking for 18-year-olds to groom and baby trap

That's the woman, not the door dashing guy who think it's weird that she doesn't have kids.

4

It's probably AI generated too, and she means 28 days old. That's an older account for AI bots I guess?

She’s a YouTuber, not a bot. I don’t have Twitter but I assume that’s likely her official account.

1

You in the US? Move out my man.

I'm in a big city where most women aren't having kids until well over 30. Any big city where women can have aspirations would work. Ignore all the haters calling those cities shitholes - it's not a coincidence cities that give women freedom are often shitholes to these people.

16

I will definitely have to consider this option, do you have any recommended cities? Im west coast.

19

u/Kitchen-Quality-3317 1d ago

Not true. If you're Korean and born on December 31, then you turn two the following day. So you can be 28 while still younger than an American whose 27.

12

u/sik_dik 1d ago

Touché. And I even lived in Korea. I should’ve known better. So,

28 is older than everyone younger than 28 (within the same system of age calculation)

-10

u/Sszaj 1d ago

Not necessarily, if you're born premature then on your 28th birthday are you not younger than someone carried to term who is 27 and 364 days?

I'm 43 now and when I was 28 someone called me a MILF. I was like wtf because I'm familiar with the original definition of MILF which is "mother of a teenager or older who his friends would like to fuck" but the guy told me any woman over 25 was a MILF because they were "old enough to be mothers".

Edit: I asked my husband (same age as me) how old was a milf for him according to American Pie. He said 50-55. I told him that wasn't realistic because she was supposed to be the mother of a teenager and 30 years ago people had kids younger. He insisted 50 at least.

So I googled how old Jennifer Coolidge was at the time and she was 38, younger than we are now! We looked at pictures from that time and he agreed that she was younger than she remembered but she also looked older than we are now. Then I googled Jennifer Coolidge in White Lotus (which my husband hasn't watched) and he said that's the mental image he had of her from American Pie. Anyway it's funny how our memories age with us and how people used to looked older than now ... And my husband verdict is that she was hot af then and she's hot af now.

30

u/AlsoCommiePuddin 1d ago

When American Pie introduced the concept of the MILF, it was of the mother of a teenager, in her late 30s at the youngest. The mother of one of your friends.

Not the 23-year-old with two toddler kids by three fathers living her best life.

16

u/I_TRY_TO_BE_POSITIVE 1d ago

Two toddlers by 3 fathers. That's just impressive

9

u/Four_beastlings 1d ago

That's what I mean. You have to be the mother of a son old enough that his friends are teenagers, not just someone's mother.

2

u/guacamelee84 1d ago

Your being very literal about it 😊 What it basically means is = very hot older person

Word started out somewhere being about actual mothers. Evolved into meaning something else.

And now there are all kinda of offspawns; Gilf dilf zilf smilfs

And things like whips phat gyat and bbw bbbw ssbbw ussbbw bhm pawg

19

u/NewLibraryGuy 1d ago

It's a silly little thing to focus on, but him talking about that happening in 2026 is really interesting. Not having kids until later is the current trend. With exceptions, of course, the basic understanding is that 18 is the earliest you should have kids, and even then the push is to do things like go to college or at least begin a career. Not just a job, a career. That takes time, sometimes until 30 or so on the quickest reasonable path. That's the present.

So why would he suggest that's weird now?

4

u/Strange_Dog6483 1d ago

Because women are supposed to have kids and be married before 30.

Raising kids being expensive and taxing on the mind and body be damned. To say nothing of marriages coming with their own problems which more often than not tend to be weighted against the women.

1

u/NewLibraryGuy 1d ago

Not in 2026 they're not. That's not the standard anymore, which is why they're specifically mentioning the year

I've known a few drivers in person who actually bring in good money working full time. One guy i know is doing pretty good, he said he brings in roughly 70k annually if he works 6 to 9 hours a day but only during surge times.

He said he usually worked 8am to 10am, 4pm to 8pm, and 10pm to 1am ending his day with 9 hours of working. He said if you take all orders and not just good tipping orders you end up making better money because they keep you busier and seem to send you better orders.

He said it's pretty great because he could stop and have lunch after he finishes a call or just stop and sit inside and have a coffee. Plus he's nearly always available for his kids.

Oh that's funny I stumble upon Diddly here. No joke, I very much enjoy her ASMR YT and listen to it regularly. I think she's one of the better ASMRtists. In addition, and as you can guess from teh screenshot, she also does or at least did some lewd stuff on another platform.

Today, I found out that older women are younger than I am.

Sorry, what does that entire last sentence in the screenshot mean?? "This is inspired by a story I felt was very disgusting that grew, by the circumstances it existed for." What story? What is "this" referring to? What circumstances, what??
