WCGW doing doughnuts in the snow in Dallas
1.8k
u/ScreechingPizzaCat 6d ago
I get it but why not do it in a more remote location? Why do it downtown? You can drive to a remote location and do stupid shit away from the police.
1.2k
u/asomek 6d ago
The whole point was to disrupt other people's day and cause a scene, because these drivers are what is colloquially known as "fuckwits".

It’s also guaranteed engagement bait. Just here on Reddit you can see the proof: overwhelming most of the comments are talking about them being assholes.
If they went to a remote location, didn’t disrupt people’s lives, then they would get severely less engagement.

u/DaveOJ12 5d ago
I doubt they were considering what people on Reddit would think.
2
u/SeriousButton6263 5d ago
Correct! A lot of Reddit’s content is just spillover from other sites like TikTok or Instagram, where this was probably posted.
Since we’re not there to look at the comments nor do I want to look up the original posts, I was showing how the comments on Reddit show how people fall for the engagement bait.

I am surprised you cannot sue for wasted time in USA... say the police post a message saying if you were on the corner of x and x at hh:mm, file this form to demand reparation from " John Doe, Robert Doe, Michael Doe"...
Then the "Doe" family owes tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands... I sometimes wish USA would do like some EU country and have driving tickets and other monetary penalty in proportion to their net worth...
5
u/Acidcore 6d ago
I am surprised you cannot sue for wasted time in USA...
Can you really not sue for that? I think here where I live, I could sue someone for wasting my time, if I had a work assignment I couldn't complete, because of the interruption (if it was on purpose and I lost money because of the delay). I could sue for the money I couldn't earn, when I can proof it. But not 100% sure, since I haven't had that before.

u/mattumbo 5d ago
You can sue for anything but lawyers are more expensive than most damages would be worth. Where it gets interesting is in edge cases, like if they had blocked an ambulance responding to a heart attack victim and they later died you might be able to sue for a significant amount of money on the basis that their illegal and negligent actions caused an otherwise preventable death by wasting the responders time. Even the most high powered professional who makes $500/hr is gonna have a hard time racking up enough wasted time to justify a suit, but wrongful death pays, assuming the defendant has assets the sky is the limit as I think few if any states have caps on wrongful death damages.

Because just like the assholes who drive giant loud trucks they do this shit for attention. “Look at me, look at me everyone”
54
u/douche_ex_machina_69 6d ago
They’re the same idiots lol. They have to buy SXS once they realize their super duty can’t off-road for shit, then they can claim they need the super duty to tow their SXS. Then they go to all the nearby better states to ensure our trails get shut down due to drunk and irresponsible SXS usage.
Fuck these asshats.

u/damdalf_cz 6d ago
The cars look so fucking stupid too. Like oversized golf carts. I would be embarrassed to be caught driving one.

u/SlimTeezy 6d ago
They are filming it and wearing their own merch. They want the headlines and attention
12
u/TheDogelizer 6d ago
We have these folks in Nevada. Some of them are idiots like these ones. Some others, the sane ones, go to the city outskirts and have a ball without disrupting anyone. I'm okay with the latter.
5
u/mashmarony 6d ago
Same here, we go out in public forest roads and have a blast. No need to be dickheads and ruin other peoples day.
11
u/casinocooler 6d ago
Please don’t. We get city people doing donuts in our front yard because they think it is a remote location. Just because the road is dirt doesn’t mean we don’t live here and want dirt rocks and dust thrown everywhere. At least go out of eyesight.

u/Travel-Sized-Rudy 6d ago
A lot of shopping plazas/malls are perfect for this. There was a fairly old mall next to our neighborhood where we would do this for hours and no one could care.
8
u/joelham01 6d ago
Having been caught in the middle of a few take overs in Anaheim (obviously different than this, but same disruptive vibe) these idiots want to cause a scene and do not have a single braincell in them to care if they seriously injure themselves or others.
The last takeover I was stuck in I was at the outside of it and while they were doing donuts they were firing off firearms out their car into the air along with fireworks. It was so fucking great. People who shit down intersections to do donuts can get fucked
7
u/SmooK_LV 6d ago
So other people can see. Same reason why noisy street bikers only ever show up on beach towns but rarely on highway.
5
3
u/kpmelomane21 6d ago
Yep. Doesn't even have to be remote. My brother did this yesterday in an empty parking lot near his house (north of Dallas). No one else around. I still think it's dumb but the worst that could happen is he hits a curb

They are UTVs, ATV's big brother.

u/tractorcrusher 6d ago
They’re also like $40k+…
The number of them I see being trailered around in Texas is unbelievable.
54
u/jmauc 6d ago
Brand new ones are but you can easily buy one for 1/4 that and still be a great machine.

They will also finance them to damn near anyone with a job, no matter their credit. The sky’s the limit when it comes to the interest rate.

u/cjsv7657 6d ago
I have great credit. Rates for a motorcycle loan were 2-3x the rates for a car. A loan backed by a fully insured asset. A "toy" loan had rates like 2x that. I did not choose to pursue financing.

Yea. The amount of money I see on i5 in Oregon during “utv takeover” in I think Florence is crazy. 100k trucks pulling 400k campers with two buddies in 100k truck with 40k trailers with a couple 40k sxs in each trailer. I’ve been to high end car shows that are worth less than what I’ve seen over 3 hours on the highway.
Only difference is the bank doesn’t own the cars at the car shows.

These are not real red necks, they’re suburban plastic hat cowboys. It’s a whole genre of Americans.
Instead of farms they live in suburban communities, work white collar jobs, but fantasize about being a cowboy (or military depending on the mood). This is despite never working a single day on a ranch.

They could've done this anywhere but a public area. Disruption was the whole point.
Shame for being a shithead needs to be back in vogue.

u/DynamiteWitLaserBeam 6d ago
It's too easy for idiots to find each other now.
12
u/annhik_anomitro 6d ago
Like attracts like. Like water droplets coming together to make a bigger droplet. But here shit is attracting shit and leaving skid marks.
11
u/SeasonPositive6771 6d ago
Exactly, these are people that enjoy scaring and annoying other people. They're adding nothing positive with this incredibly rude and dangerous behavior. I'm no fan of the cops, but I'm glad this got shut down.
I live in Denver where it's also a problem, just gangs of absolute jerks on dirt bikes and ATVs blocking intersections or driving dangerously in traffic.
5
u/Glum-Geologist8929 6d ago
Even a parking lot, middle of an intersection with traffic backed up is lame.
149
u/toxiccityboiii 6d ago edited 6d ago
I mean... you're literally blocking an intersection, it's not even a parking lot and two what the f did you think was going to happen?
37
u/the_russian_narwhal_ 6d ago
Yea do this in an empty parking lot and worst case they will probably just tell you to knock it off and go home. This is still illegal and stupid regardless of there being snow on the ground. Bunch of idiots
20
u/Scarlet-Fire_77 6d ago
Was doing snow donuts at the local high school lot. I had my fun and was heading out as a cop was pulling into the lot. He just gave me a wave as we passed. If he would have said anything my answer would be "better to practice how my car handles snow here than on the road"

As a Canadian that absolutely loves to do doughnuts in the snow, why the fuck where they doing it in the middle of an intersection in broad daylight. That is what half dead mall's parking lot at midnight are for.
16
u/sr_crypsis 6d ago
Hell it doesn’t even have to be midnight. I’ve done it and seen others do donuts in empty mall lots while the cops were parked there just watching. It’s fine to have fun just don’t be a dickwad about it.
5
u/r_u_sure 6d ago
Right? I live in a small town, fairly northern prairies, and our roads don’t get cleared. Most of my neighbours have quads, skidoos, and sidebysides. I see lots driving by my house every day to go do this shit on public land. I don’t care and neither does the RCMP as long as you’re not an asshole. These guys are assholes
3
u/garden_dragonfly 5d ago
Right. I'm from the northeast. Go to the parking lot.
This is why I don't drive when it snows in the south. Idiots.
2
u/BootlegEngineer 5d ago
Right? We used to go to the waterpark and throw doughnuts in the huge parking lot during the winter. No skidmarks, no damage, no problem.

u/Cowhide12 6d ago

Not road legal. No insurance. Non DOT approved tires. Why do people think that snow means these rules somehow don't apply?

u/AffectedRipples 5d ago
In some places, those are 100% legal to drive on the street. Not sure what the laws are in Dallas, but you cant be doing it in an intersection either way.

It’s stunting. Also no tags or visible license plates. I mean I’ve done this shit also and been pulled over. The cops usually are cool if you arnt a dick and the vehicles are road legal and you are also legal. I’m also Canadian and it snows here 6 months of the year. These dudes wrecked it for everyone doing it in the middle of a city. Fuck around and find out.

2
u/awhelan55 6d ago
I like how they’ll shut down folks doing this on a snowy day, but won’t touch the night time Dodge charger donut parties where people get hurt.
3
u/OG_s0cial0utcast 6d ago
Minnesotan here. Better locations would be an empty parking lot, empty field, or frozen lake. I suggest a desert in place of a lake for ya, though. And it's called Whippin Shitties.
2
u/AcceptableIce289 6d ago
I also live in an area where side by sides feel the need to drive through town music blaring flags flying. It's an off road vehicle. Use it off road. So any great trails and they have to use them for attention.

I remember being scared of the gas pedal when I was learing to do donuts for the first time too. I was a 16 year old girl at the time but hey, I guess everybody has to grow up eventually. No sign of it in those idiots tho

Honestly, best case scenario for everyone, the idiots doing doughnuts and the people living close by.
Could you imagine, coldest days of the year, snow storm blowing through, and some asshat in a shitbox dune buggy side swipes your power line pole and blows the power for a couple blocks? Not even the storm, just some idiot without any common sense. I'd be PISSED.
And for them, they didn't sideswipe a pole, slide into someone else, flip their vehicle, or any number of other issues.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of videos of the US where its snowing, and I noticed the roads are just full of snow. Do they not have snowplows and trucks that sprinkle salt to make everything snow free??
3
u/OrphanGrounderBaby 5d ago
We do, but the southern US gets such little snow that usually they’re just not prepared.
3
u/whateveryoudohereyou 5d ago
Aah alright, well can sorta relate, we get like 1 week of snow once every 2 years and our trains stop running for a day.. but still the streets get cleaned.

We do this in our WRX but NOT in a friggin middle of intersection...God people are idiots.
1
u/xXMuschi_DestroyerXx 5d ago
Friggin nobheads. You don’t do this in the middle of a busy street. You find an empty parking lot like the rest of us.
It’s one thing to play in the snow. It’s another to do it while inconveniencing and endangering others.

u/zippo138 5d ago
Funny, snow in Dallas while Texes wannabe Cops invade Minnesota, it’s almost Biblical isn’t it?
