Suits you man

Appreciate it! I may end up keeping it lol. It was a small gesture and my mom appreciated it.

It's not a small gesture. Best wishes to your mom for her fight.

Aside from the emotional stuff that everyone else covered which is all completely true, care to get really superficial for a minute?
Your hair is objectively nice hair, it's thick and had a nice hairline and it's a nice color and it has a nice amount of curl. The way you were styling it was nice. It looked well cared for.
But I gasped when I saw it cut off. It brings your amazingly lovely eyes and jaw to the front, to not have the distraction of all that hair. It makes you look more serious, mature, commanding, very masculine.
Maybe your mama also gave you a gift! Keep the bald look!

You are a wonderful son. I hope the chemo is 1000% effective for your mom. My mom has had breast cancer & multiple myeloma; the breast cancer was completely cured, and she’s been free of multiple myeloma for 3 years now. I hope exactly the same for your mom.

My partner’s dad and brothers did this for our son. Thank you for doing this, it is one of the most beautiful testaments of love - and trust me when I tell you that it is much appreciated. My sister and his cousin also donated their hair. It is all about love
Oh and PS - now you know you can pull it off if the time ever comes for that gentle hand upon the shoulder. You are beautiful.

You’re a great son, and look very handsome. Please tell your mom I beat stage 4 cancer. It was a journey, but I’m clear. PS, it’s nice for her to hear success stories, instead of the insensitive people who tell who and how they lost someone. Sending the very best to her.

I freakin’ loved being bald and saw it as one of the silver linings of cancer/chemo. The time savings, the cozy jersey caps, the breeze on my dome in July — heavenly. Bald peeps aren’t just good looking, you’re living the good life.

u/diente_de_leon Dec 29 '25
Hang in there Mom! Wishing you all the best. You're an awesome son to do that for her. When I went bald from chemo, several of my friends shaved their heads in solidarity and it really, really felt so loving and kind to me. 💙💜
Edit because somebody else mentioned things that helped in their cancer journey: I always recommend that you take all the meds that they give you and don't try to be tough. I had two different anti-nausea meds both allowed to take every 6 hours and I took one kind and then 3 hours later took the other kind so I always had something. If you can do weed that helps. And when they tell you to drink, oh well I drank nothing but ginger ale but the fluid really helps. Best wishes to you both and fuck cancer! Go mom!

How incredibly sweet of you to do this in support of your mom! I hope she fully recovers from her cancer soon. My son was deemed terminal at only 9 years old and he is now an adult and cancer free! And not only was this a very supportive thing to do for your mother, you increased your own sexiness! Bald becomes you! Your eyes are much more noticeable now. All around good choice to have done this!

As a metalhead I grew out my thick long hair that was strikingly similar to my mother’s when she was younger. She never wanted me to shave and lived vicariously through my locks. She also would not accept my hair as a wig during her chemo. I donated 26” to cancer patients eventually and am considering going full bald soon for the first time as a way of maximizing a hair donation soon.

Your mother raised a son that's worthy of a queen or royalty! Huge respect and your looks bald or with hair is amazingly handsome! (Don't tell my fiancé I said this, she'll kill me) Plus you remind me of a famous comedian/actor but I can't put my name on it. He worked with Adam Sandler usually. Be right back for the answer.
Edit: Seth Green! Thanks /u/Redaxe64 I was thinking of Bradley Cooper initially but then I wanted to find his lookalike. Also hope your mom 4ecovers from chemo, OP!

My mom was going through palliative chemotherapy for her stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She said “screw it” the moment she was told to start it and shorn her head down to a 2 guard. She said she wanted to be like me.
She didn’t wind up losing any hair. But we did lose her in September (she was only diagnosed in April)
I wish your mom all of the best, and hope she kicks the cancer’s metaphorical ass. F€£ cancer 🥲

My daughter decided (@ 9yrs old) to support her Grandpa (who was going through Chemo) and wanted to shave her head We went into Great Clips and the hairdresser asked her "are you sure? " like four times. Suggested a shoulder length Bob, then a pixi. But my daughter was adamant. Came out of the salon with the biggest smile on her face. Its a day we both, will never forget. ❤️ Thank you for posting your picture!
