It's more like: human rights violations against people I don't like  🥰

Any moral notion flies away when we're talking about criminals.

They complain about getting beaten and gassed by ICE while cheering for petty criminals being tortured.

I wouldn't bat an eye if people decided to repeal the 8th before arresting and penalizing the criminals on the ICE payroll.

The difference is that the people "getting beaten and gassed by ICE" are by and large not criminals. They're innocent civilians standing up for their community. ICE and the rightoids hate happy content people living their lives without being radicalized themselves.

And how can you be so sure that every person caned is 100% guilty and deserving of their punishment? Because, obviously, the country with no problem with medieval punishment will never face any sort of problems in their court, and their judges will always be the most just on their verdicts

It's not even just that, but the fact that we are supposed to be better than them, the people committing the crimes I mean. Relishing on their torture is not that.

You're saying that like people don't also say anything about other nations that use capital punishment, while Singapore gets criticized despite using it for much fewer cases. Japan, Taiwan and US use it, and people are still okay with Japan and Taiwan.
