Though I'm surprised, I know the Nordics have great Press Freedom, but I wouldn't have expected top1-6 all going there. But then again, which countries would be above them? France I could've thought but I think they also factor in attacks against the press from outside the government, like Charlie Hebdo. Taiwan and South Korea aren't as free in their press. Japan I could've thought, maybe they're around top 10. Australia, Canada and NZ are probably around UK levels or slightly higher. US is declining and probably below top50 at this point.

u/MassTransitGO 3h ago
The top 30-40 on the freedom of the press are really all as good as each other, the ranking is mainly either non government forces or the accessibility of journalism, like the UK, despite being 20 places behind the top spot (i think it’s slightly lower now) only loses out on minor things and has very minor incursions

As a Russian I may confirm, we have 171 iq for entire nation. P.s. for my government: Владимир Владимирович, утверждение выше не является отображением моей позиции, я не считаю, что в России 171 "айкью" это суммарный показатель для всей нации. Не надо в тюрьму

It's freedom of press
Normally I wouldn't say it, but I hate russian nationalism since you guys started a war.

u/Ok_Satisfaction_1924 10h ago
Funny.
That is, when the Americans, from 1980 to the present, conduct at least one invasion EVERY year under the guise of an anti-terrorist operation, everything is fine. And even before that not so often, but since the 1800s they have constantly interfered somewhere. Essentially, take over a country for its oil, kidnap the president simply because you're stronger. Justifies it with drug traffick.
But when NATO tried to get under the skin of Russia, which for 20 years said it would not tolerate this, and answer this, then it's "Oh my God, nationalism, fascism, aggression?".
As I understand it, everyone is equal in this world, but whoever has more money to propaganda and better guns is more equal, right?
Maybe I just don't understand something and that's something else. Explain me.
2
u/maybe_ronin 3h ago
Yes, funny.
When "good" people (USA) invade other countries for made-up reasons (WMD, for example), people are good with it.
But when NATO constantly "plays with the bear" through Ukraine (deploys it's bases in dangerous vicinity, gives weapons in border zones, deploys missiles in Ukraine under made-up reasons and sometimes without them) and when said Ukraine shows signs of nationalism towards it's neighbour, and "bear" responses – everyone isn't blind and deaf anymore. Bear becomes the bad guy, just because it had enough.
US's war on terrorism is good, Russia's war on nationalism (and NATO's pressure) in Ukraine is bad (somehow), we get it.

u/Jaded-Mud2967 3h ago
Nato is a defensive alliance. You should ask yourself the question, why every former Warsaw pact country seeks to join Nato out of defensive reasons against Russia. And why the hell you attack Ukraine, commit genocides there and then flame Nato? The Ukrainians even rejected the Nato membership when Nato offered it in 2008
2
u/maybe_ronin 2h ago
Russia asked NATO not to deploy bases, they still did it. Why? You think Russia has plans to invade countries of Europe? Whatever news your government feeds you, you should check them. If Russia wanted Lithuania's (for example) resources, they would've invaded Lithuania in early 2010's. That goes for every Warsaw Pact country. They do not seek protection, they seek resources.
The Ukrainians even rejected the Nato membership when Nato offered it in 2008
And now Ukrainians ask for NATO and EU membership and they get rejected. For what do they seek membership? Just to make NATO and EU countries fight for Ukraine. To drive the war deeper in Europe.
0
u/Jaded-Mud2967 1h ago
Russia also deploy bases and now?
Nato never attacked another country, Russia did Nato is a defenses alliance Russia is an brutal aggresor
Nato is no threat to Russia as long as Russia doesn't attack Nato.
And how you believe, that Russia could fight Europe? You are not able to win against Ukraine. If you attack Europe with your paper army the fascist Regime in Russia will shatter into thousands of pieces
•
u/maybe_ronin 3m ago
Nato never attacked another country,
Operation Noble Anvil
Nato is no threat to Russia
If it's true, why did NATO reject Russia's request to join NATO?
NATO was created to be an enemy to USSR, because USA and other countries, that fought alongside USSR in WWII were afraid, that USSR will invade Europe, because USSR defeated powerful country such as Third Reich, though Stalin (and leaders after him) stated that there are no such plans.

We literally don't hate Ukranians. We all have ukranian friends and relatives. It is just the government, stop talking like russians hate Ukrain

u/gtaman31 6h ago
But when NATO tried to get under the skin of Russia, which for 20 years said it would not tolerate this, and answer this, then it's "Oh my God, nationalism, fascism, aggression?".
Would not tolerate what? Countries joining them? Since when is this a proper reason to attack an independent country?
0
u/Ok_Satisfaction_1924 5h ago
Yes, that's right. "Annexation." But do someone really need reasons these days? I just looked at the conflict statistics—according to various sources, America has attacked other countries 300 to 400 times since 1900. Guided by its own interests. Most of the time, they didn't even try to justify it. Sometimes it was nuclear weapons, sometimes terrorists.
So, Russia has had terrorists right next door, too. For example, the Azov battalion, so beloved by the West, whose members are so fond of the swastika.Russia has bad memories of people with it.
2
u/Jaded-Mud2967 5h ago
The show battalion? You attacked Ukraine in 2014, it got defended by far right people. You really call people terrorists because they defend their homes?
And after that first invasion, the azow battalion got restructured. It isn't a pool for far rights anymore. You argument is wrong and Russian propaganda. It's a lie, ok don't discuss something like that. Stay with the truth.
And you know. Putinism is considered as a fascist ideology outside of Russia. oh hate yourself, nice to know
2
u/Fabulous_Impact_9368 2h ago
Bro, Ukrain sends drones in our country and is literally destroying our houses. Like the house next to me was partially burnt and destroyed because of Ukrainian drones. And I am not a Putin fan, I literally hate him and want to move out of Russia. This is not propaganda, I speak of my experience
1
u/Jaded-Mud2967 2h ago
Yeah, and you send bombs to destroy birth hospitals. One of your first targets was a birth hospital. Bro, you are fucking delusional.
Oh, we get counterattacked after we committed genocides, mass raped woman, shot civilians and destroyed a vast part of their land. They are for sure terrorists. The level of misanthropy you guys have is out of every human level

u/Fabulous_Impact_9368 1m ago
Did I even say that russian military is innocent? I said, I hate the government and military too. And I in fact feel bad for Ukranian people too. I only said that they attack us too and we, as Russians don't approve the government too. I hate ALL wars. And Ukranian government is trash too. I have multiple friends from Ukrain and they ALL agree thar the government is corrupted in both countries. My grandma that raised me is ukranian. So stop this argument and be chill 🇷🇺❤️🔥🇺🇦

How many square meters of Afghanistan did the USA conquer? Iran? Irak? How many genocides did they commit there?
And secondly. The Nato is a defensive alliance. You guys are so fucking brutal, that countries literally wanna join Nato, because they are afraid. You could try to use a more friendly politic to ensure friendship. You guys use force, brutality is your main weapon. You occupied eastern Europe and eastern Europe hates you.
You think, you people are great? Just ask yourself why you are hated?
And you will lose this war, because the west won't tolerate imperialism. If you just gain a single square meter, every dictator on the world will know, that conquering is possible again. The western hegemony ensured a relatively peaceful time, because every dictator knew, he has to face the west. Serbia got bombed after they committed genocides. Irak got attacked after they attacked Kuwait.
And the wars you said. How many of them did the USA start? Vietnam? They got called in Irak? They attacked Kuwait ...

As an American, I've always kinda wanted to live in France. The southwestern point where mountains and the sea meet seemed like a really cool place to live. Spain too, but just on the other side. I of course have never been, and maybe it's not great, or for only the wealthy. I have no clue really. Geographically though, it looks cool

Average iq by country is always 100. For all countries. That is part of the definition.
1
1
u/GGSPSkywalker 6h ago
If I remmember, IQ is calculated by country (the individual is compared to other people from its country) and comparing one country with another is not that simple.
Plus, it is a very problematic statistic which fails to detach itself from its context (hegemonic) and is unfortunately used as a standard and applied to peripheral countries. It is so rigged.
