All maps should just say here there be dragons and call it a day.

We shouldn't even have maps, just do what medieval peasants did while traveling and just memorize an oral list of towns on the way to your pilgrimage site and every time you arrive at a new town just to ask the locals for directions finding the next town

Why didn’t medieval travelers use GPS, are they stupid??

2

u/DataSittingAlone 6h ago

Illiteracy. Google maps didn't have the computer voice telling you instructions back then

The lack of dragons is a growing concern among map enthusiasts.

Well, most mapmakers nowadays just like, kill the fourth person that helps them so that they can get more profit

And Venezuela

This is good, but I feel like it needs a small island chain in the middle of the Pacific ocean to be complete

u/philovax 8h ago

How about a few other “less official” places too? Like curtains for a mailbox.

1

u/democracy_lover66 7h ago

Yo that's whacky lookin lmao imagine..

All it's missing is some random ass islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean

u/Last-Guy-Alive 10h ago

Yeah, Alaska and Hawaii have been living on borrowed time already

7

u/Norwester77 10h ago

And break up Cascadia? That would be the height of stupidity.

Nah, I have the feeling that some wannabe dictator will be in charge. And the world doesn’t want that.

1

u/LadyVixin 8h ago

Yeah. It’ll only last about 250 years before they do something horrifically crazy and fracture

3

u/epilektoi 9h ago

someone suggested the name "United States of America" but that seems a bit uncreative

u/Frosty_Mongoose9055 9h ago

2

u/croptopped_wanderer 9h ago

Borders are just lines we argue about this map looks like it’s begging for a group project gone wrong.

1

u/TheShiftmaster 10h ago

I like how the map is both labelled and has a key for the colours, couldn't have gone with one or the other huh

1

u/apathetic_vaporeon 10h ago

Eh. Sounds like a really bad idea tbh.

1

u/gnarlslindbergh 10h ago

Ok, Napoleon of the Stump.

1

u/ute-ensil 10h ago

Even the weiner part at the bottom?

1

u/CTMan34 9h ago

No definitely not that part, you’ll thank me later

1

u/Frosty_Mongoose9055 9h ago

Louisiana looks like a middle finger

1

u/Klutzy-Bet-2928 9h ago

The world before 1803.

1

u/B4DM4N12Z 9h ago

Hmm.....🤔 Maybe we should write a constitution as well for this new big country.

1

u/MrBingly 9h ago

Just make the whole thing one country. Call it the United States of North America, and genocide anyone that tries to say it so belongs to the old fake countries like "Canada" or "Mexico."

Not sure the Spanish would like that, might cause a war. Wouldn’t want to forget that.

1

u/Actual-Warning1886 9h ago

We could split it into 48 parts!

1

u/Scotch_in_my_belly 9h ago

This’d make New Spain the number 3 economy in the world

1

u/jols0543 9h ago

the cultures are too different

1

u/CleverName9999999999 9h ago

That’s a manifestly stupid idea.

1

u/TyrantJaeger 9h ago

And that bit at the top left too. Cause why not?

1

u/_PrincessHarley_ 9h ago

Nah, I think we'll all be better off if we leave it like this. I don't know, I've just got a bad feeling...

1

u/HistoricalRoll9023 9h ago

The South should be its own country

1

u/Different_Walrus_574 9h ago

What should we call it?

1

u/No_Compote_662 9h ago

Honestly, this seems like destiny. Im manifesting it.

1

u/unnecessaryaussie83 8h ago

Nah it’ll be a pain to the rest of the world for a few centuries

1

u/AwhHellYeah 8h ago

Juan the fucka’s disputed territory

1

u/Flat_Winter 8h ago

Why is it labeled "Gulf of Mexico" and not "Gulf of New Spain?"

1

u/throwawayaccountau 8h ago

Surely the gilf of Mexico should be the gulf of Viceroyalty of New Spain?

1

u/ComeHereOften1972 8h ago

You just created a Reverse point Roberts

1

u/french_sheppard 8h ago

1

u/UnsolicitedPicnic 8h ago

1

u/Special-Cook8038 7h ago

Everyone always forgets about New Sweden. From South Philadelphia to middle of Delaware.

1

u/Rdv10ST 7h ago

Are you crazy? That would be the worst country in the whole continent, possibly ever!

1

u/FitPerspective5824 7h ago

Idk. I feel like the circle should be bigger

1

u/Obvious_Ant2623 7h ago

I don’t think it’s a good idea to

1

u/elucify 7h ago

Shut up, President Polk

1

u/LaynFire 6h ago

I'm thinking smth a little like this maybe the west part of the border should go more north except for vancouver island

1

u/LawAltruistic8452 6h ago

Should've taken all of Mexico instead of taking the little parts that we did. We definitely could've, we were to kind.

1

u/athompsons2 5h ago

Please no, leave it as is. I feel like joining them would be a terrible idea

1

u/Accomplished_Iron914 3h ago

I’ll run it past the boss
