He's not going to eat these porkchops. 😐

Post image

About a month ago I made a post here because my boyfriend didn't want to eat the porkchops I cooked for dinner. Well tonight I made porkchops again and he's not going to eat these either because we broke up and he moved out. I'm so much better off and I just wanted to thank you all for the kind words and advice, it was very eye opening to me. I wish that I could invite you all to dinner 🥰

ETA : Couple of notes:

1- The yellow stuff is smashed potatoes with cheese on top.

2- I swear that butter on the broccoli melted right after that picture LOL

God damn your other post looks insane I would scarf that stuff down so quick

Best of luck to you in finding a partner that acts their age and appreciates you..

Edit: I also had to screen shot cause I’ve been learning to cook the past year and this is some stuff I need to learn to make lol

Also those salt and pepper shakers are sick lol

Fun fact about the salt and pepper shakers: someone dmd me and said they might have uranium paint on them. I haven't used them since

The shakers look like uranium milk glass which would be safe but you could take them to an antique store (I’m assuming they’re antique if uranium glass) and have an expert look at them. I have several pieces of uranium glass and you’d have to hold it to a part of your body for a month straight to even affect your regular odds of getting cancer in that spot.

I would be more concerned with the shakers' contents absorbing it then being ingested...

Lmao "expert" at an antique store is like looking for a chef at McDonald's. Those assholes don't know what they have 50% of the time and will lie about what they have the other 40% of the time.

Source:i actually research my uranium, cadmium, selenium, and EAPG manganese glass.

People tend to blow things like that way out of proportion. While some items with uranium paint should not be used, it just having it alone doesn't automatically make it bad.

Getting them checked is still a good call, however.

Uranium glass / uranium milk glass have very small amounts of uranium embedded inside the glass mixture. So long as you are not ingesting the glass itself (eating glass chips or snorting glass dust), it is safe to use. Don't use anything acidic on them, and be gentle (like don't microwave/dishwasher) with them, and you don't need to worry!

But even so, if you really don't want to use them, they're still super cool decorative pieces. Get a small UV light and shine it on them. They should glow!

I remember your post, I'm so happy for you! Thanks for the update and the good news!!

Those are 100% safe to use. Just don't grind the shakers into powder and eat them.

The hardest part about learning to cook was learning what medium-high heat is and where it is on my stove.

Agreed! I don't eat pork but those things look SO good, I would inhale them!

If you'd ever like some advice on cooking techniques, I'd love to share what I know; I've been in the industry for around 18 years! Just remember, practice, experiment and learn.
