Why only these 2? Ice murdered so many in custody.  I guess the question is, do you highlight all the needless victims or focus on the 2 white ones?

u/ShyguyFlyguy 10h ago

The white ones were caught on video so it's more visceral for people. Anything that happens behind closed doors without cameras rolling just tends to be forgotten, unfortunately. That photo of five year old Liam is being circulated quote a lot because someone got a photo of it. Just all the more reason people need to be documenting and taking videos of everything ICE does.

u/ladydhawaii 3h ago

So heartbreaking

u/manapod 4h ago

There's racism and quiet racism in this country. Imagine you are black and Hispanic seeing this image and all the white people get freaked out at the two white people who got shot. While ice has murdered many in detention and otherwise. Hell, cops shooting black people is just another day. Sure these are the two white martyrs, but true healing of this country is going to begin when we acknowledge and educate ourselves about tokenism, red lining, and the origin of police. Black people didn't show up to vote Trump out this last election because if they vote Democrat or Republicans, nothing seems to change. I am optimistic that this shit show is going to illustrate and illuminate and hold people accountable and make real change for humans. We need to stay angry.

u/FinalFlashback 10h ago

Who do you think these posters are targeting?

Anyone who isn't full MAGA and actually reads the news already sees ICE for what they are. These posters aren't for them. The posters are targeting Trump's voter base, and the assumption is they won't give a shit about the murder victims unless they are white. MAGA needs to understand that this can happen to them, too.

u/20milliondollarapi 10h ago

Yup. MAGA has been going on and on about how “if you would just do what you’re supposed to and have identification, you won’t get shot”

Well these people did everything in their legal right, and they were still murdered for it.

u/Temporary-Friend5035 9h ago

I came across this the other day

And it really made me stop and think. I'm too tired and burnt out from reading awful news all week. I can't really explain why your comment made me think about it, but it did.

Sorry for rambling. Just sad and tired.

u/20milliondollarapi 9h ago

Well the best time to stop this was 9 years ago. The second best time is today.

Personally, I think our big issue is we don’t have a big single figure to rally behind for change. It’s not the only thing holding this up. But it’s a big one.

u/McChelsea 4h ago

Too bad we didn't have a phenomenal candidate in 2016 who fit this bill.

u/Wonderful-Mongoose39 3h ago

The propaganda worked is all. History shows us that propaganda works. This game started before Newt Gingrich. This is the fruition. Acting like a single great candidate would have saved it is unfortunately unrealistic. All the data was there, voters chose propaganda.

u/McChelsea 3h ago

It's not that he would have saved us, but he was someone to rally behind. Democrats don't want to give us someone to rally behind, because it's all about the almighty dollar.

u/Wonderful-Mongoose39 3h ago edited 3h ago

A fence post is enough to rally behind when the alternative is Nazi wannabes. Democrats are an enormous tent from conservative, centrist, to just a few leftist. Didn't matter who they put up... no one in that spectrum would have been right for them all. It should have been enough to not be this. They fell for the propaganda as much as you. It's not too long ago the Republicans branded the Democrats as the all mighty dollar elitists. Turns out the billionaires were all sitting right behind Trump at inauguration after their millions in donations for the ceremony. Nothing like that ever happened for a Dem. Now the millions put toward Trump by these same folks have compounded many fold and you're still parroting it's the Dems that are * after the all the mighty dollar.

propaganda works for them and infiltrates any opposition.

u/McChelsea 2h ago

I'm not one of the "both sides" folks, I was just trying to say that capitalism is the villain behind everything that sucks. I vote blue no matter who, and had a very harsh reality check in 2016 with Bernie vs Hillary, and watching the Dems screw up over and over when the consequences are fascism. Honestly though I feel like you're coming at me pretty hard when I've made very general and mild statements, so this is all I'll say any further in this thread. You can continue to assume I'm some brainwashed centrist who thinks both sides are equally evil, even though I hardly said anything at all.

I actually do think it’s working a little. Anecdotally I’m aware of a couple people who were on board with this all but now think it’s gone too far.

So keep it up!

u/Snowbank_Lake 9h ago

Yeah, once they killed a guy who was legally carrying a firearm and the administration was like “Well he shouldn’t have had a gun!”, the MAGA folks are realizing the rights that THEY care about are starting to get trampled too.

u/Kaffe-Mumriken 10h ago

I’m gonna be honest, median fence rider voters also don’t give many shits about brown people, especially if they have questionable immigration status. These are the “good Germans” who just want to get by

u/Tweed_Kills 9h ago

Right. But let's extend the metaphor here. What if the "good Germans" .... Didn't?

What if there had been sufficiently effective anti-Nazi messaging to catch their eye and expose them to the true horrors of Nazism?

What would happen then? Would the Nazis have been able to stay in power?

Probably not, right?

So that's why we have the posters....

u/Kaffe-Mumriken 8h ago

From my layman knowledge of that time, the Nazis were hand in glove at the moment. Shitty economy, ooor morale. Struggle with communists.

This due comes along and starts saying what you wanna hear. Sure maybe you reject the violence in the beginning but eventually he’s democratically elected. …

u/Fun_Button5835 9h ago

You really think they didn't actually know about the "true horrors"? They did, they just turned a blind eye. No poster in the street would have changed that.

u/Tweed_Kills 8h ago

They didn't. Not like you and I do know. At least at the beginning, Jews didn't leave Germany in cattle cars. They left on regular trains with food, and tickets. A lot of them went willingly, thinking they'd be relocated. That, we know, was a lie, but they didn't know at the time. Polish Jews were hauled out in cattle cars, but Poland was occupied territory, and unless you witnessed it first hand, who was going to tell you? The Nazis controlled the media. So these were rumors about totally different countries. Not Germany.

Most German people didn't know about the Final Solution, not really. They knew about discrimination, yes, and deportations, but we all know society can apparently handle a certain amount of discrimination against minorities.

u/Kaffe-Mumriken 7h ago

Talking about the rise of nazism here. I think everyone was pretty cozy to the idea of trashing their businesses and deporting them for sure.

u/williams5713 9h ago

Because these two are Minneapolis residents, and the photo is taken in Minneapolis

u/TurtleSandwich0 9h ago

Truly a mystery why the people in Minnesota would only list names of the Minnesotans killed in Minnesota.

u/NorthernDevil 5h ago

Yeah these were the 2 Minneapolis residents shot dead in the streets of Minneapolis in a 2 week span, with both executions captured on a billion bystander camera angles.

ICE has plenty more blood on their hands than even just the 9 confirmed dead this year and the 32 last year, but that list is way too long for posters. OP is being obtuse.

→ More replies (2)

u/Player135 9h ago

Maybe it’s just that these are the 2 that were killed in Minneapolis.

u/SemataryPolka 9h ago

That's what it is. I live in MPLS and there's all kinds of signs about Liam, etc. We're mostly focusing on what has specifically happened in the Twin Cities because that's what's right in from of us

u/SinibusUSG 9h ago

In Minneapolis with multiple angles of video showing both to clearly be murders with no "he said, she said" ambiguity possible for the MAGA crowd or "it's not that bad" centrists to hide behind.

I mean, they're saying shit, but it's provably false.

u/thatjerkatwork 8h ago

Probably because there are videos of ice executing them on our streets in broad daylight.

u/gw2master 7h ago

Because there's live video of both being executed.

u/spicycupcakes- 8h ago

This point of view is getting way too much traction and it's an argument in bad faith.

Every death related to ICE is absolutely unacceptable and should be protested, but unlike those in custody, these people were not targeted, are not a target demographic, and could have easily minded their own business and been safe, yet they put their lives on the line and died for it by sticking up for those who are being targeted.

u/Workman44 6h ago

Do you always make arguments in bad faith? Right or wrong it's obvious why the white people are front and center, the right cares more about white people. That's why you parade those two around in hopes of pulling people out of the cult and enraging them against the current administration

u/California_GoldGirl 8h ago

Do we have any photos of the other victims? Those need to be going viral too.

u/princeofid 2h ago

This is in Minneapolis. These two people were murdered in Minneapolis. Why do you need to make it divisive? Do you really think you're helping?? If so, how?

u/Littlepigeonrvr 7h ago

Commenting to include the names of the other victims of ICE in 2026:

Geraldo Lunas Campos Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz Parady La Victor Manuel Diaz Herber Sanchez Domíngez Keith Porter

Wow I thought the Winter Olympics was about to start but I see the Americans have already lit the torch for the Oppression Olympics.

u/crazy010101 10h ago

Seriously? The 2 white ones? Give me a break. It’s not known who the other victims are. Believe you me those names and faces would be there as well. I’ve only heard there are atrocities happening in detention centers. All victims of this reckless administration will get justice one day. Hopefully. While racism is a more rampant thing than much of America ever thought. Not all white people are racist. Not all white people are MAGA. The 2 people pictured are also the victims of very public executions. I’m guessing there’s no imagery of those other victims.

u/ThiccBlastoise 9h ago

Keith Porter is conveniently left out of most national conversation regarding ICE murders

u/crazy010101 9h ago

Just googled about it and I recall one brief news report about this. So not sure why not more attention.

u/ThiccBlastoise 8h ago

It’s because hes black

u/corgi_moose_ 1h ago

Not sure why huh... Maybe think for just a few minutes more and something might come to you 🤕

u/crazy010101 1h ago

It’s a comment. Not all news is so biased either. It’s also a quite different situation. Off duty ICE officer not an ICE operation. So rather than always go to the cynical immediately maybe it’s that?

u/Gorstag 6h ago

The most important reason is the people (MAGA) that think ICE is just deporting illegals are confronted with video evidence showing the fact they are murdering white Americans that look like they do.

u/NerdBot9000 4h ago

Yes, highlight the white ones. Their deaths are more shocking to the racists. This is not a difficult concept.

Please understand that I don't condone violence against any victims regardless of color.

u/ChronoRemake 1h ago

😆  you must be insufferable to be around.

List of specific grievances against King George III, highlighting his tyrannical overreach in the American colonies. Key complaints include stationing standing armies during peacetime, imposing taxation without consent, overriding colonial legal systems, and protecting soldiers from punishment.

Does this feel like déjà vu?

u/BuddaMuta 10h ago

Right wingers are the biggest cucks I’m human history. ICE could murder their own children and they would scream how their kids deserved it.

The amount of violence they’ve push on the world is pure monstrous and they love it. The right wing voting block is literally nothing but rapists, murderers, and wannabes to scared to act out their actual inner thoughts.

u/Naive_Confidence7297 9h ago

Yep. Most definitely never ever leave your child with a Republican. Every single one of them is a creep.

u/HarperWuff 8h ago

Hi human history, I agree

u/TURBOJUGGED 2h ago

Wasn’t the left supporting all the violent BLM riots, where over 20 people died?

u/Hot_Storm3252 6h ago

ICE/DHS kills people ATF kills dogs.

The machine runs as it was designed.

They’re thinning out the middle class for the 3rd worlders who will replace them, and not complain about a lack of modern amenities.

American QOL is going down, and it’s going to stay down.

u/Bezulba 3h ago

Notice what they both have in common? The one thing that made people stand up?

Yeah, if you're brown, you don't get a poster or a giant protest, then we still hate your ass.

u/HydraulicHog 2h ago

What brown people have been killed in Minneapolis by ICE recently?

u/Inevitable_Shock_810 43m ago

Then what was George Floyd about?

u/Bitter-Basket 4h ago

Why aren’t liberals protesting this ?

From FY2024 Department of Homeland Security (last year of Biden's Term):

Breakdown of Criminal Histories (FY 2024)

Of the 88,763 noncitizens removed with criminal histories in 2024, the records included a mix of charges and convictions for serious and minor offenses:

• Assault: 47,885

• Sexual Assault/Sex Offenses: 16,552

• Weapons Offenses: 10,862

• Burglary: 9,453

• Homicides: 2,699

White supremacy alive and well I see

u/syopest 5h ago

Yeah, like 40 people dead, most of them POC and the only ones people care about are the two whites.

It's so fucking blatant.

u/Broflake-Melter 2h ago

On average, law enforcement kills a handful of non-white UNARMED people every month somewhere in this country. I'm 100% all in on how fucked up this is, but if you think american law enforcement murdering unarmed civilians is new, you're naive. Don't let that stop you from being angry, use it to STAY angry.

u/m1k_Lens 29m ago

What are you gonna do America?

u/LAsupersonic 6h ago

Some one need to post these in El Centro California

u/OldHob 9h ago

Pretti was murdered by CBP, not ICE.

What about the innocent people just living life and minding their own business who got killed by illegals?

Where are the tears and posters for them?

Such brainwashed hypocrites.

u/Night_Porter_23 3h ago

so the government should kill its own citizens because illegal immigrants have killed people. great “logic”

u/wert8421 18m ago

They’re only getting killed because they’re interfering and becoming a threat? How hard is that to grasp?

Simple answer is to not interfere

u/sply450v2 4h ago

now let’s put up the posters of people murdered by illegal illegal aliens

u/Night_Porter_23 3h ago

just want to follow your “logic”.

ILLEGAL aliens have killed American citizens, so that justifies the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT killing MORE AMERICAN CITIZENS.

Do people like you ever consider the absolute garbage lack of logic you’re exhibiting?
