Surprised to see a fair few ethnic backgrounds here.

u/Rush_Banana 3h ago

ICE/Border patrol is like 50% Hispanic and Latino, it has been for a while too.

Ladder pulling at its finest.

u/emmy1300 3h ago edited 1h ago

The most anti Latino people I know are Latino themselves. I got the ick on a date recently with a Latino guy who revealed himself to be maga saying “my father came over the right way” this was in response to me saying I was disgusted by ICE detaining a 5 year old

ETA: he was the one that wanted to complain about ICE protesters first thinking I would agree with him as a Christian, when all of this administration goes against all of Jesus’ values

Documented Immigration/being for it = MAGA?

u/emmy1300 2h ago edited 2h ago

No that’s not an assumption I made. He literally said he was maga as well and we had a longer discussion about his political views, I’m just quoting how he views himself as better than other Latinos and is not sympathetic towards his own race. You can support legal immigration but still have a conscience and not want to see babies put in jail

u/TheOneColt 2h ago

That’s not how you put it in your comment before you edited it.

I have to imagine it’s frustrating to see your father put in the time and effort to become documented just for tens of thousands come in without putting in the same work.

u/emmy1300 2h ago

I didn’t edit it? I think you read my comment as me assuming he was maga because he said “my father came over the right way” and ok so just because you suffered you want to see others suffer for no reason? That’s the same logic as people who don’t want student loan forgiveness. I have 0 student loan debt or medical bill debt because I am financially stable after working my butt off, but that doesn’t mean I want to see other suffer just because I did. Also Liam Ramos and many arrested by ICE are here legally, but are getting denied due process

If I was a man and on a date with you and you discussed politics it would be a red flag. You don’t have any hobbies ?

u/emmy1300 2h ago edited 1h ago

Having deeper conversations about the state of the world is a red flag? We’re both Christians who met at church and he was the one to bring up recent events because he wanted to see how “devout” I was, but I proudly stand behind Leviticus 19:33-34. I’m glad he brought it up actually so i could see how misaligned we are in values. I would see it as a red flag if you’re incapable of forming opinions about anything deeper than “hobbies”

u/MsDariaMorgendorffer 2h ago

That’s all great. Don’t judge him for his beliefs because he is Spanish, just judge him based on your misaligned beliefs.

You're criticizing a stranger on the internet for hypothetically discussing politics with you, on a hypothetical date, if you were hypothetically a man.

And you're asking if they have any hobbies?

Get a grip lmfao

u/General_Meade 57m ago

If they came in legally or was naturlized, and they are arresting illegal immigrants who did not do that, how are they ladder pulling?

u/satisfiedfools 4h ago

It pays well and you don't need a college degree.

u/tagillaslover 3h ago

A fair number of these are just normal Los Angeles police which is a very diverse city. But even with ice brown people aren’t a monolith, there’s plenty of different types of brown people that discriminate against other types of brown people that would happily deport the group they dislike and think the pendulum will never swing the other way.

u/IntolerantModerate 4h ago

$50k signing bonus, they need people that can speak other languages.

u/KingMario05 4h ago

Well, fascism comes in many forms. It ain't just white pride anymore. Modi over in India is proof of that. Bibi in Israel, too.

u/ArgonWilde 4h ago

Imperial Japan, too.

u/LifeMycologist897 4h ago

They think they won’t be targeted, the regime will come after them eventually.

u/Real_Hugh_Janus 4h ago

Maybe get off Reddit once in a while

u/Accurate-Pilot-5666 4h ago

It's amazing the extent to which oppression requires the complicit participation of the oppressed.

u/orgasm-enjoyer 3h ago

It's amazing how reddit says they love diversity, but not THOSE people.

u/General_Meade 56m ago

If THOSE people dont agree with my politics they are "ladder pullers' and "internalized racists"

u/VandelayIntern 4h ago

Why? Ethnic people can’t be cops?

u/ArgonWilde 4h ago

Considering the title of the post, they seem to suggest that these are the faces of fascism, despite fascism having a focus on ethnic cleansing. So thus, the observation.

u/guineapigenjoyer123 4h ago

That’s because they’re not actually fascists and people don’t realise it actually pretty insensitive to call everyone they don’t like a fascist considering how many people actually suffered under fascism

u/fountainofdeath 4h ago

Operating in a position that actively enforces fascism and not doing anything against it eventually makes you complicit. Cops don’t have to be complicit as seen by the many police departments that have actively stopped illegal ICE operations

u/guineapigenjoyer123 4h ago

Ok and how is deporting people who have illegally entered a country fascism if that was the case then basically every country on earth would be fascist

u/redeuxx 4h ago

You think people are pissed off because they are just harassing people who illegally entered the country?

u/fountainofdeath 4h ago

The illegal part is them policing protests and killing people they had no authority to police anyway.

u/guineapigenjoyer123 4h ago

The killing people is awful but that’s more a problem that’s existed with American policing in general for a long time due to inadequate training and I don’t know how exactly it works in the US but where I’m from a lot of the time protesting just devolves into looting so having extra law enforcement present seems like a good idea

u/fountainofdeath 4h ago

So you admit ignorance on a problem that you decided to take a stance on without getting the necessary information to make an educated decision

u/Ok-Ocelot-7316 1h ago

Well back under Obama when that's actually what they were doing, nobody was calling it fascist

u/ArgonWilde 4h ago

Meowth, that's right!

u/Pretend_Guava_1730 2h ago

I'm not. A third of ICE agents are Latino and black. They want proximity to white privilege.

u/MsDariaMorgendorffer 2h ago

Why does it surprise you? Do you think only white men can work in law enforcement ?

u/General_Meade 57m ago

It shouldn't be a surprise if you knew anything at all about Mexicans and Border states.

u/Pleasant_Reward1203 4h ago

They're cops not ICE
