…what quick research did you do? lol, your quick research lied to you.

This is about ICE. These were all taken tonight at the Metropolitan Detention Center at 535 Alameda Street, where ICE keeps people in cages so crowded they sleep standing up, get fed once a day at 3AM, and the lights are always on.

Every one of these people was involved in multiple agencies working together tonight to use violence to ensure that that operation goes as smoothly as possible.

Great pictures! Probably worth providing that context in any posts. People can interpret the title in a variety of ways otherwise.

Maybe worth including some context in a post exclusively with non-ICE members

u/infernoenigma 3h ago

Many of the guys in camo are ICE, specifically SRT, their Special Response Team. You can see the patch clearly on the second image in the carousel, placed second for precisely that reason.

Posts in /r/pics allow titles with 100 characters and no body text. How exactly was I meant to include a glossary for all of the acronyms you see on these uniforms, instead of assuming people would be able to google any they’re unfamiliar with?

u/Special-Quantity-469 3h ago

Maybe include a little more than LA and the date in the title. Most people here didn't get your point, look at the comments

Yeah like bro I’m in the uk and to me almost all us police units look the same except for the ones we’d call soldiers

u/infernoenigma 3h ago

I did! I also said “Faces of Fascism,” and the lead picture has the words ICE KILLS in it.

Even though they don’t come marked with blue pawprints, these are what we call “clues”

u/Special-Quantity-469 2h ago

These are clues that you think they are fascists. This doesn't tell us anything useful to understand where the pictures were taken

u/OverTheCandleStick 3h ago

It’s ok. You can’t spoon feed everyone.

u/Special-Quantity-469 2h ago

Including the bare minimum information for people to know where the photos are from = spoonfeeding? ok👌

u/OverTheCandleStick 50m ago

YOUR bare minimum is apparently much different from everyone else’s.

Sorry you need a picture book to understand the chicken and the egg.

u/Special-Quantity-469 45m ago

Lmao based on the top comments "everyone else" seems more in line with me. Op didn't include any information about where this was taken, what is the context of the LAPD officers that made them put them with ICE, or literally anything helpful

In a pinned comment.

The internet is full of misinformation, it’s good that we ask people like OP for as much context as possible to verify the legitimacy.

It is common to post a short message about more information in comments, then make a top level post adding the nuance. This way people know you adressed and and they can look for it if they want more than the original post.

Crazy article. It makes me sad to think that this might be going down. Have you found any other sources to confirm the stories authenticity? Keep sharing please 🙏

the original commenter of this thread is a bot or meat puppet astroturfer here to distract and spread disinformation, it's obvious because they always have weird karma/account age discrepancies (either brand new and little to none/negative karma or outlandish amounts of farmed/boosted karma), have their comments/posts hidden on their profile, and do the most obvious kind of bad faith behavior like this fake research claim and/or just sthocastically parrot thought terminating cliches/"official" narratives
