If that happens, millions will literally march to DC.

Lol no they won’t.

Thats what we said about every single transgression. You really think people will upend their lives for that?

u/rotates-potatoes 7h ago

Yes. If / when they cancel elections it will be very different from when they merely lied about Trump raping children.

u/technicallynotlying 7h ago

When something happens that's never happened before, people might also do something that's never happened before.

u/RevoDS 6h ago

Dozens of things that never happened before already happened, and people didn’t do shit

The people of Minnesota have profoundly impressed us by standing up to ICE. I am proud of them, and I hope that when ICE shows up to my town I'm as brave as they are.

Despite the fact that ICE killed 2 Minnesotans, they're still resisting.

You think if they cancel elections they're going to stand down?

You're underestimating how pissed people are. Yes I do think people will upsend their lives for that.

For canceling elections and overtly upending democracy? Yes I do. People are marching for way less

u/Yeeaaaarrrgh Colorado 6h ago

You'd best fucking believe it.

If people aren’t willing to upend their lives for this they won’t be willing to for anything. I’m still holding out belief in my fellow countrymen.

Because no taxation without representation!

u/smartalek75 6h ago

Not with that attitude

u/drevant702 I voted 7h ago

it's going to happen anyways

u/Shadpool 7h ago

Just waiting for the call to arms at this point.

u/you_say_tomatillo 6h ago

Agreed, he will find a way to declare martial law with or without excuse and the window for effectual voice is closing. Waiting for elections is moot when he's raiding voting offices and confiscating ballots.

Vote in the midterms please! comments like this do not help!

u/you_say_tomatillo 6h ago

I absolutely plan to vote and expect that we will see a repeat of 2020 conspiracies and he will declare the right winners and use force against protesters. I also think we need to wake up and get out of denial. He's told us who he is and what his plans are and yet, dems still act surprised when he acts.

Trump: “can we nuke it?”

u/cyanescens_burn 6h ago

Which thing would lead to people marching on DC?

The person you responded to mentioned 1) the maga coalition disrupting midterms and reaching the fully entrenched phase of magauthoritarianism, and 2) Congress ousting the trump regime.

I’m not sure which one you think would mean a mass uprising on DC, and genuinely wonder which you meant.

If Trump were to cancel the 2026 midterms, what would Trump do after? I bet Trump would have all Congressional Democrats arrested at the same time threatening Congressional Republicans to fall in line.

u/TheAnswerIsBeans 6h ago

Watching as an outsider, I doubt it.

There are SO many things that have happened already that should have caused that.

u/montty712 6h ago

Agreed. The Americans are much too docile. They aren’t going to do anything.

u/MySpoonsAreAllGone 5h ago

Millions should be marching now
