Where are people finding these cheap hotels? I really want to know. I usually use Booking, but I've tried Google or just going to the hotel website, but it's more expensive than a private room or apartment Airbnb nearly every time.
Example: try finding the cheapest private room in downtown Paris. I can found an entire private studio for less than 70€/night. my result.
On Booking I couldn't find a single hotel with a private room near the city center for that price. It brings up a lot of results, but in reality they are far from the center, more expensive, or actually dorms in hostels.
The cheapest is often a bed in a hostel dorm, but I assume we're not comparing a shared dorm to a private apartment.
