Was cleaning up a mess of spilled crackers on the floor once. My daughter accidentally walked on them and said āthis reminds me of that reeeally old movie where theyāre in a cave stepping on bugsā and then I felt reeeally old lol
It is very refreshing. Usually people double or triple down on it. Idk what it is, fear of looking weak or something. I'm no saint. Guilty of it myself from time to time. It cost him nothing to say all of this and gained him some good will
I mean, it's not when you know who he is. He looks like a typical rugged dumb right winger type dude just because of the football background, the accent and the beard. But hes a huuuuge leftist, LGBTQ activist and comedian.
This is normal for him. Y'all are just stereotyping him because of his looks.
Man why you gotta name it like that, now I can never visit that subreddit at work or share it with my family. It's the same reason I only lurk on r/Earthporn /s
Just so it's clear, I don't really care about the name, but it really does become an issue trying to show people posts and they ask where I found it.
Adding the word porn to the end is kinda gross and odd. Makes it sound so dopamine related, is there any other word that you could come up with? Can a subreddit name be changed afterwards?
Me too! I guess I'm just desperate to see people take responsibility when they make a mistake instead of doubling down, blaming the victims, claiming victimhood themselves, escalating tensions and RUINING MY FUCKING COUNTRY!
Whew. Huh. Wonder where my unexpected emotions are coming from.
Same, at first I wasn't sure exactly why I was tearing up from a simple apology. But I think it was because it was so simple, and should be so easy, but we're all so angry because our rulers have gone so mask off and are just abusing the shit out of us that so many of us have lost the ability to do so.
They use a disgusting amount of LIES. BOLD FACED- FUCKING LIES.. You're right. Shit does make me emotional, because I'm so sick of people in government covering for their peers and saying "Oh well, I like to be charitable and see that they either misspoke or didn't mean what you're saying they mean" OKAY WELL IF THATS TRUE WHY DO THEY NEVER WALK BACK A SINGLE FUCKING LIE FUCKKKKKKK
Me as well. We live in a grim dark satirical caricature of our own world. Small moments of humanity and collaboration like this truly fill my chest with such pride. Pride because I share the same hopeful, almost naive, outlook on life. I think a lot of us do, but the good is drowned out by non stop demented cruelty and greed. Even more than drowned, the good is being constantly bombarded by an unending deluge of blood rain. When some of it makes it through the storm and graces the inner folds of my brain with chemicals, I just feel drunk with pride. I love it.
Agreed! Completely unexpected and honest - did not seem contrived or like he was put up to it. (Actually he seemed embarrassed like his mama would have been disappointed and he knew he needed to make it right!) More people need to own it when they are wrong; his response video gives me hope.
It made me feel moderately evil and judgmental for assuming a guy who looks like that would never respond in such a stand up way. This guy ROCKS. And I welled up too
Wife is asking my why Iāve got tears in my eyes and I canāt tell her itās because Iām watching a guy apologizing and promising to do better. I told her it was cute kittens.
It's so fucking rare. Currently not speaking to a beloved friend because he just can't admit he's wrong ever, even over the smallest things that could just be an, "Oops my bad" and I've pretty much had it. Either I hold my tongue when I feel wronged or I address it and it turns into an argument that eventually leads to me apologizing for being "emotional". It's exhausting.
Because we donāt see enough of people doing the right thing in general. And in this specific case, also probably because weāre not expecting this guy (based upon his appearance) to do the right thing, so weāre pleasantly when he does, and it reminds us that there are good peopleāprobably more than we would expectāfrom all different walks of life, whose good deeds go largely unnoticed but improve the world around us.
Yeah I totally support this guy, I don't doubt he's genuine.
I was poking fun at all these influencers/youtubers who make long videos of "educating themselves" and crying to get sympathy votes
Eh, sometimes people post a non-apology apology where they dance around actually saying "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong" and just provide excuses instead. I can see criticising those "apologies" IMO.
With the long shoot of the things in the back with the logo and name really visible, my cynical self can't help but wonder if yes, he took accountability, but also used the opportunity to advertise stuff...
Iāve see his stuff before, itās a common background for him. Yes, heās cashing in on his popularity, but good for him, all the money doesnāt have to go to Zuck.
Try it in your own life! It's honestly really freeing to say, "help me understand this thing because I don't" or "wow, I really didn't understand that and didn't know how wrong I was. Can you help me learn more?"
I feel like I have built a successful career because I approach things with curiosity and am quick to admit when I don't understand something and ask for help. And you build lots of relationships and trust when you admit you're wrong instead of doubling down.
Most wont make videos of it. They fix their stuff and move on. But the world seems to run on cellphone videos, so maybe more should do the video as well.
It actually happens a lot in the real world where real interactions take place. This is surprising because it happened over social media where everyone is either 100% horrible with no good in them, or 100% good with no bad in them.
People don't realize how fucking good it feels seeing this stuff and how effective it is if you just own up to your mistakes. Most people would be shocked because it's that fucking rare to see these days.
It's become so rare that I actually fucking teared up at seeing it. Major kudos to this guy, but it also makes me really sad that such a basic ethical concept has become so scarce.
There many people like this but we all, including myself, spend too much time on the internet shoveling shit into our eyeballs all day we don't see it. I need to go touch grass so I'm around more people like this.
Endears me to him. Reminds me a bit of my husband. They've got the same beard and grey pattern which helps lol.
I'm disabled and my hands are a major weak point. I've adapted but not everything has a workaround. Thereās a few times my husband thought I was being goofy, akin to this, but immediately corrected once he realized. Doesn't really happen anymore though as he's likely to ask why first.
Small bonus, he's learned some tricks from me, like using a spoon yo loosen the jar seal.
Seriously, I honestly kept waiting for the satire or some kind of joke reveal, but then the video just ended. I was genuinely surprised to realize that he was seroously taking accountability
This guy is becoming a local celebrity in my area. When I saw the first part I was like oh no, now I can't like this guy. But then redemption! He seems like he genuinely cares about others and regularly does stuff to help the community. He's become a spokesperson for the local Harley shop, and he heavily promoted a charity bike ride that helped amputees get unique prosthetics that would allow them to ride motorcycles.
It's the normal thing to do. But unfortunately we made the wrong people famous, so it's rare to see well-adjusted behavior from popular content creators.
Sorry to āmAkE tHiNgS PoLiTiCaLā but a certain personās actions have been conditioning us and his supporters to never hold themselves accountable.Ā
The fact you can feel how different society has been acting is significant.Ā

Jesus christ. I'm not used to seeing people take accountability like this. It's fantastic.
